That looks great, Sean. I still have quite a bit of snow on the trails around my place.

got the 2 grass tracks laid out , 1.8 miles between them, I had the camera set up on a tripod , so there is a lot missing, but you get the idea .

    Re: Trail cutting

Neat video, Sean. It really doesn't do justice to the size of those tracks, though. The off camber turns are incredibly challenging at speed, and because these are old agricultural fields, the loam is soft, deep, dark, and pretty much rock-free. That alone = Heaven!

Looks like great cornering practice to be sure. Add a few obstacles in and you will have a fantastic practice spot. I'm sure it will whoop out with use as well.

Aight, so that vid made me jealous. I went out for some laps at my practice spot today. After 2 laps my heart was bouncin of the limiter! Did a bunch of short sessions. Conditions were perfect...

actually a quad may be good to knock down some of the weeds and such on the sides , plus it would help burm up the corners, but you would not have fun in the woods sections on 4 wheels . can;t wait to see it from the helmet cam point of view .

    Re: Trail cutting

Sean's practice area is *incredible*. Period. He led me around two laps (10 miles?) and I was whipped (I am waaaay out of shape). The mix of super tight woods trails and open grass tracks is something I have only experienced in an actual NETRA event...and Sean's grass track(s) are much longer and more challenging! I never thought that a relatively smooth grass track would suck so much energy out of me. Boy, was I wrong. It is the one thing that made me wish that my KDX had a flatter seat/tank to enable me to crawl up on the tank more.
He has his own slice of dirt bike heaven right there... He has it layed out very well. The track sections flow very nicely, and high speed straights are kept to a minimum, but they do exist. The texture of the dirt is what really struck me. Incredible traction, and very consistant.
If any of you end up there, when you see water, let him go. That 450 moves mud like a 'dozer!
Oh, and Sean is *fast*. Everywhere. Just a heads up.

If there's one thing I've learned from my own trails, quads are a huge help in filling in the dirtbike ruts

Sean, I completed my loop Saturday and my property is now 100% cut. I did a mileage check and have 5.9 miles of trails on 13 acres, 2.4 of them are bony, rocky and bike busting single track

thanks for the flattery , but I do have home field advantage , especially since I laid out and cut it all myself ( with the help of the wife of course).
we have a few spots here and there to tweak . and unfortunately our neighbors are already indicating displeasure , they have not officially complained about the noise yet but I also don;t want to push my luck by hosting a large group . a couple at a time max.

I am sore myself today , the 2 flights of stairs to my office was killing me today .

Sorry to hear that, but I can not say that it is unexpected. I sincerely hope that my KDX did not kick this off, Sean.
Quiet mufflers for all, I guess.

    Re: Trail cutting

super bummer about the neighbors... one of my concerns with my track. Had 20+ guys for the track opening and only got jealousy from the neighbors... The fact that it's all in my forest helps sound deadening a LOT, but yea... it's definitely preferable to have quiet exhausts for longevity of riding spots.

Where are you located? I'd trade some track time with ya!
