Much dirty to be had there. I have a buddy who lives in Fitzwilliam with good land and access to trails, questionable trails but it's Fitzwilliam so no one cares. Really need to talk him into getting a dirty bike.

no shit ... i've heard about the area for years and know where to enter but i'd rather go with someone familiar. not because i don't ride alone but the parking situation. there is a ton of tolerated stuff around us...
this reminds me, young guy we met on our trails here found a bunch of new stuff that goes north instead of the usual east we do. looking forward to early spring!

re: typeone's Beta build (250RR)
update on the fork saga ...
the Beta race team ate up all the 2018 CC Sachs, none available and restock is TBD so i'm back to my original-original plan ... MX-Tech dual cartridge system which is a complete drop-in replacement of the Sachs internals. also went with revalve and stiffer springs .42 > .44.
parts ship Friday but here's what the kit looks like. once i have my tubes apart, if the uppers look worn i will send them out for a strip and recoat (Type III hard coat anodizing) before reassembly.

the thermostat delete kit came in, hope to install tonight or tomorrow
http://www.imgrepo.org/web/img/typeo...int-2018-7.jpg
and received the Slavens billet idle screw as well, no more cursing for a quick idle tweak

is it a similar swap of internals? MX-Tech makes the Lucky system for the 4CS which is what my Sachs kit is based off of.

re: typeone's Beta build (250RR)
I don't know if it was a drop in kit. It works very well though. I don't think about the front end much anymore. I too was losing confidence.

sweet. fingers x'd i'm not thinking about the front end anymore either!

re: typeone's Beta build (250RR)
Nice kit.
Will be nice to see how these compare to Chris’ CCs.

yeah, def. he revalved both ends and did new springs (front only for now but prob rear too) but he's been real happy with the suspension overall. just sag tweaks mainly.
i posed the question to the tuner (A-level Beta racer), '18 CC or OC+MXT ? and he said he personally doesn't even bother with CC anymore, the MXT kit gives him more range and endless tuning ability. every kit they've sold has had nothing but fantastic feedback. guess i'll find out!

I got their full boat redesign of these forks. I don't understand the forks to begin with, so I can't say I understand the mods. I do know that the closed rebound chamber is now open. This eliminates the recurrent seal failure that makes the stock forks infuriatingly inconsistent. They also installed an anti-bottoming device which solves another major hole in performance. I can still bottom when appropriate, but it no longer blows through the stroke and hammers the bottom on a simple slapdown.
It was expensive.

Why the fuck factories can't get this right (or close to right) in manufacturing, I'll never know.
When I was up at Factory Connection, I asked them about the KTM 4CS stuff. "Yeah, it works, but only if you spent a ton of money on it..."

No frickin idea. Especially the Euros do some whacky shit in their forks.

re: typeone's Beta build (250RR)
I’m not too sure why the deviated from either the open or closed chambers personally. Both are tried and true and every tuner has their own recipe perfected by now.
The 4cs is baffling. It’s so narrow in bandwidth.
I think mine are as good as they’re going to reasonably get at this point. I have some work to do on my own before I go hog wild on another setup, but it’s be nice to know exactly what my options are, short of buying a set of cc’s.

re: typeone's Beta build (250RR)
Paul, who is 'they'? FC?
Chip, look at Enduro Spec + MX-Tech if you haven't already. i realize it's pricey shit but down the line you might want to go the insert swap route.
