Lol, Dutch rudder on the new beta!
in it's natural habitat, upper Hodges, 1hr in...

so far I've noticed, the motor has insane, smooth power, lots of vibes, front is stiff and I can't get it to turn quick. went 3 clicks out on forks, little better in the chop but I will need to try to raise the forks and see if it turns better. my WR rode on telepathic rails. (w/3 yrs of tuning)

holy fuck it's hot out! I'm drenched.
piss break over... bbrrraaap!
sharp looking machine!
hmm, dealer overfilled the trans... BY DOUBLE. well that's helpful.
Oh boy...
yeah, no kidding, brain dead techs. gotta love 'em. can't believe i don't have crazy weeping anywhere. (behind CS sprocket is common with a slight overfill)
850ml of Amsoil to the rescue. (i pulled out ~1700ml !!!)
some more tuning for the next session, was supposed to be this AM but trails might be shot, microbursts in the area last night. riding Sat/Sun instead...
- forks raised to third line
- fork comp/reb backed all the way out while they break in
- dropped tire pressures to 13F/12R, found out air gauge is shot, i was running 19+psi. uhhh, ruff
i'm spun almost all the way down on rear shock preload. going to pull the trigger on a 5.0kg rather than jump to 5.2
they might've thought it was dry and just added 850 to the current 850
those pics in the woods are the money shot...love seeing her in her element...and smooth power evens out all those rocks
19psi rear and a stiff rear spring...you looking to get beat up or something?
more RR!!!
i'm assuming that's what they did, filled twice. amount was too perfect.
heading down to HVD now for another test session :D
front end felt much better today. heading in the right direction for sure... man, I'm falling in love with this motor! smoooooov powa with some spice
i've got 60 miles or so on the RR now, really liking the bike. bunch of guards showed up yesterday, new pics once i install. the rear disc guard is STOUT.
pic from today and a few vid clips from Sunday, quality is still rendering. should be HD once YT is done processing.. .

I don't think I've ever seen a pic of one of your bikes dirty:hbang2:
...says the guy with the neatest, cleanest, tightest shit ever. :D
I'm liking everything I read...and even more, everything that I watch!
bike looks super light and fun....just the way a 2smoke woods bike should be
really liking that section starting ~2 mins...sudden tight turns...WOT hill climbs...the girl just shines
how much of the gearing are you getting through? 3rd?
thnx.
yeah, those sections are fun to ride, tons of flow. looks flat in vid but there is some nice up/down going on too. total blast.
hmm, not sure on gearing but right, I bet third.
ordered the 5.0kg shock spring, should get it to turn even better.
this is a woods bike, right?
WR trans?
not sure how wide but yes, enduro focused machine.
more bits, miles & smiles.. .

Beta rear sharkfin disc guard, replaces the entire brake carrier, super solid unit

swapped the rear spring from a 4.8kg to a 5.0kg... still too soft. trying the 5.2kg next
P3 carbon pipe guard should be here Wed
one thing i'm really hating is the airbox and drain design. water collects very easily and the rubber drain/nipple on the bottom doesn't let it escape. prob just remove it. ordered up a new filter so we'll see how filter access goes.
oh, and, EE handguards work great

So you've been on this motor for a bit now and rode a bunch of others. Anything else you'd rather ride or is this the ultimate woods bike?
That Moto-Z rear meat looks *awesome*.
love the bike, def not interested in riding anything else so i know i made the right decision but ultimate? hmm, think that's more a personal preference. my WR165 was (sorta) more fun to ride (what 125-class bike isn't?!) due to the light feeling but the motor in the Beta is awesome. smooth, powerful, exciting. hasn't felt like a handful, yet. runs like a top, too. very good jetting right out of the box.
the WR felt like mountain biking, the Beta feels like dirt biking.
i will love the Beta even more once i get the suspension sorted. it's close(r) but not perfect yet. only have ~80mi or so on it so very early still. i've read the forks don't fully break in until around 300mi.
