valve adjustment?

anyone familiar with doing a valve adjustment on a 2004 honda 400ex? just trying to figure out how difficult or easy it may be?

i haven't. a buddy of mine does a lot of work on quads/dirt bikes. was gonna check with him but if it was a huge hassle id just drop it off somewhere and pay the 100 or so bucks.

If you have never done them it can intimidating, but they are simple tappet style valve adjusters. Find someone to give you a hand and it shouldn't take more than 2 hours even on your first time doing them. then next time you need to do them you are looking at about a hour to do them.

A little advice, wash the machine first. Last thing you want is dirt to fall into the top end. Yes, it's just a coupla caps you take off but still, not a bad idea to wash first.
