If you need a shorter chain let me know. I still have both of the chains from my tards that are both in good shape. I was running 15-40 gearing.

Thanks for the offer. I have 2 chains from my YZ as well, but they are a bit to short. After todays quick ride, I know it needs a gearing change for road use..so the extra chains I have will work.

I'm amazed at how smooth it runs vs a 4-stroke, no vibrations or anything? Fun on the dirtroads being able to spin up the rear..the pavement sections not so much as the engine seems boggy if the rear doesn't brake free

Huh...some clutch fix that? Maybe some porting, reeds, exhaust...etc.

No, I think it is going to struggle to handle that gearing. You may be able to improve that a bit with needle adjustments.

    Re: Warp 9 ??

Just rode most of my trail loop...quite the workout! The only issue with this set up is the front tire rubs on the front fork gaurd...which happened on my other SM's as well.

I'll probably swap it back over to knobbies today..I still need some time to make it somewhat street legal (lights/mirror, etc)

Yeah, I had to notch the guards on my turd a bit...especially for putting warmers on and off. I might have an extra set of black ones if ya want. They might be scratched up a bit, I'll check.

R7, are these the ticket? I want a set of SM wheels for my KLX/DRZ. Goal is to shop fleabay and the like until spring. Once March comes, if I haven't found anything I am probably going to pull the trigger on a set of these Warp 9's. As you say, they seem to be the best bang/buck deal going.

Or is there a better way?

Talk to my friend's at TBolt, they carry Warp 9, DNA, and Tusk. They're located in PA so a bit closer and stand behind what they sell. Tell Vince (Sr or Jr) that Kurlon says Hi when you talk to them.

Bang for the buck, the way to go for sure. They are not perfect, probably heavier than the rest, but the quality seems OK. I've done a trackday with them, some road riding, and even banged them around in the woods a bit...not a single issue. I bought them on ebay, which was well over $100 less than I found them anywhere.
I'd also keep an eye on SMJ in the sale section
