headed out solo this morning for a rip on my local loop, riding slower than normal and a bit tentatively as I was alone, the wet leaves and wet frost covered grass areas were especially slippery . Not quite a mile into it on my own track I fall over on a little up hill corner ( 1st bike pick up of the day)
about 8 miles into it there was a section of trail that they logged recently and I got cross rutted in a skidder track , stopped dead on a branch and went over the bars in slow motion , when I landed i jammed my wrist pretty good, took a minute to get the bike back up and get going again . ( bike pick up #2)A bit further down the traill I stopped to take a few advil to prevent the wrist from swelling up, as I was putting my camel back on again , I lost my balance sitting on the bike and it fell over under me as I stepped off into the woods .
(thats bike pick up #3 for the day . )
Get going again now riding a bit slower than before and trying to favor my wrist a bit , I start down this trail that I have been on before , there is a series of roughly 10 or so log crossings , some of them at opposite angles and they were slick I made it over all but the last angled one where I slid the front and down I went ( bike pick up #4) . Then a remember as I get to the end of it that is is a dead end and I have to go back the way I came .
no pick ups this time but it wasn't pretty . At this point I decided that "I just weren't feeling today " and its time to head back before I get really hurt .
I was almost home , coming up the hill out of the woods there is a stone wall to cross , as I said before I was picking bad lines today, the front wheel went into a hole and as I gassed it out , the seat came up and pinched my sack on the edge of the seat and mashed my right one, knocking the wind out of me . I sat there for several minutes to catch my breath , and then rode the final couple hundred feet into the driveway .
I still managed a 22mile trail ride but it wasn't pretty , too bad too because it was a nice day for it .

You need a trials bike added to the fleet
22 miles...rock and roll...any clear day is a good day to ride dirty
I'm also dying to get out soon...and I'm piecing together the parts to get the XR200R street plated, and use the old knobbies as studded winter tires
imho, this was the best bike pick up to envision in my head
2-shots, wouldn't you be suited well on a 2-stroke mx bike?
the same day that people started to reply to threads wirelessly from their phone because they have nothing better to do with thier time than start shit for no reason and the same day that people started to post on this site rather than actually getting out and riding, it is after all a motorcycle site and this is motorcycle related rather than all of the other crap people post aboutFYYFF .
consider it to be a ride report with out pictures .
and I was on the WRR

And how is this different than any other riding day?
I had my first day off in 13 days today, I overslept, did laundry, cleaned the house, and raked a few leaves. Your days sounds much more fun than mine was
Fire and beer tonight, and trail riding tomorrow though

I have had those days Sean. They suck but it was a good day. You got out rode and learned a few things. I got stuck at some shitty ass birthday party for some little 2 and 5 yr old bastards.

Sean, after today I'm thinking it wasn't you! The dirtbike god just wanted certain riders on the ground this weekend...and I was the one today.
I'm sure Tom got quite a show today as I musta hit the ground 10 times in just under 10 miles worth of riding. My bike does not look the same after today
The rock garden areas as hard as this is to beleive...need more rocks to fill in the voids between the boulders. For now, it will make for some interesting crashes and if there is a camera person there...some VERY good pictures![]()

It was quite funny. Mark seems to fall in slow motion sometimes. And how that bike stays running on its side is something else. The rock gardens....yeah, there interesting. Until you watch Todd drink a coffee going through them.
Was a tough ride for me to, finally was getting it toward the end of the day. Bike only steamed over twice, I have to get that fan kit.
Saturday, I rode about 25 miles of trails behind my house that now have a foot of leaves on em.
Me and the YZ tumbled together down the same exact giant ass hill 3 times before I made it up....I considered it bonding time.
A man of many names...Jay, Gennaro, Gerry, etc.
Damn!!! The one time I might have been able to keep up with you and I wasn't there.
Glad you came out relatively unhurt.... always risky riding alone and I find I definitely ride more tentative.
