You're supposed to ride those things in the mud.

A pair of bark busters can help prevent a shortened day of riding? A fresh set of tires is always the best performance enhancer for a dirtbike. If you plan to ride rocks, a full skidplate and radiator guards are also good insurance. Also, a spare sparkplug & wrench is often nice to have along on a ride. MX bikes have very open airboxes and can suck water easily.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Very nice bike, especially for the $$$.

I agree with the above posts. Go for bark busters, skidplates, decent gear and make yourself a small toolkit. Also pick up a little cheap power washer from Home Depot. A big suspension bird told me they work mint. I just have to wait until we can turn the spigots back on then I can finally wash my bike from the January ride....

Little more maintenance than regular bikes. Regrease the chain after every ride, lube pivot points more often, etc. The water/dirt/mud make it a lot harder on the bike. Also pick up a spare air filter so you can always have a clean and freshly oiled one to toss in.
