Little different in the newer RFS engines with shim under buckets. They are at least easy to check, gets time consuming to adjust.
Tom, your bike sounds "clicky" to me, noticed it more when it was running after we pop started it.
I asked Bob what he did to his 530, he put a bigger battery in it because they are known not to last long, pretty sure he said the battery he put in his was from an R1? Seeing how you have an R1, it'd be an easy check

I took a lap on the quad just before dark, we burned in a nice bike line today
Hmm, maybe an afterwork ride this week?

I didnt notice it to much today, but the tick is there. When I asked the guy at the dealer(parts..) the responce I got was "all four strokes tick".
I am almost wondering if its the cam chain. From reading around I read a few people with the tick put in the manual cam chain tensioners and it solved the issue. I asked the shop and was told they have never put one in, in the 15 years he has been working there...??
So I will more then likely get a valve check to be sure its not the valves and go from there. But, the bike runs great atleast.

I'm not a member of the club, so I'm not directly involved. I did let the club use 2.5 miles of my trails as a "hero" section for the dualsport part of their event last year though. I've been to the event the past 2 years and had a great time.

Well I would hope they don't go back 15 years, that motor design is only 3 years old

No, no. He ment as in ANY dirtbike, I was a little suprised. Reading around they sounded rather commen, but to hear they never put one in made me think twice about that causing the tick.

Was thinking to, I wonder tick could be that dumb little exhaust cap thats a little lose....

Id be up for a few laps after work, let me know the day before. I'll put the bike in truck in the morning

The RFS and LC4 motors have never had a problem maintaining cam chain tension with OEM bits, prior to that Katoooms didn't have cam chains so I wouldn't be surprised the shop hasn't tried manual ones yet.

I need to leave Saturday open just in case I have to work, but I may be up for it on Sunday? Saturday will probably be a yard cleaning day if I don't end up working.
I actually worked the third burm in that line of corners yesterday, didn't burm it up much but got rid of the stump and burried some rocks. I walked the "fast" section (if you can call it fast) and found a few stumps that need to go, and a few rocks that could go.
Could even start the new single track section if it's cool out

Sounds good. I can think of a couple of those small pointy stumps that could go. Those suck if you hit em

I pulled a few of those stumps out after work today, and burried a few more rocks. it's hard to see where they are now with the leaves falling, but a couple passes with the quad should uncover them again

Yes, that's the plan as of now. Thought about rounding up the neighbors for a fire tomorrow night...so it could be a slow start on Sunday

Why do i feel so whooped after less than 10 miles of riding today? Was it me or was the gravity stronger today than normal..I sure spent my fair share of time on the ground today
Thanks for helping with the trails Tom and was a good late afternoon ride for sure

Wrentham is fun! There's a woods track with a lil jump, a wet tunnel under 495, and a couple places to bin it when you get impatient when the dude in front of you stalls out.

At the 3:30 mark I run up in my buddies ass and stall out...finally get some breathing room to stretch the ol' legs, then at 10:30 my other bud stalls out, I zip off to the right, and get snubbed by a big rock. Funny stuff.

    YouTube - Wrentham SF ride, Oct 30th 2010 Part 3 of 4

Part 4 of his videos has the woods track in it. My buddy drops his klx as we're about to take off. Listen for the evil laugh.
