    Winter coming ICE RIDING

Here is the website to order your ice tires from. http://frpoffroad.com/ You will need the left and right tires. I would like to get all of us that want to ride/race on a weekend hero type thing that want to have fun on a level field. Making your own tires with sheetmetal screws is not a competitive option. You will need a dirtbike with a 21 inch front and either an 18 or 19 inch rear. Order your tires from Jeff Fredette and wait for them to arrive. I know Kates can mount them for you.

What I am thinking here is if we can get a common piece of ice that we can line up a few quads with plows to keep the track "groomed" then this might work out.

I have 2 quads with plows available this year to plow a track in goffstown, Nh.

So order your tires and let's have some fun.

    http://frpoffroad.com/

I am also thinking about making a bobhouse to keep out on the ice for the season to warm up in and shit.

If you shit in the bobhouse no one is going to want to go in it to warm up.

Maybe I'll buy tires this year if there's going to be ice and riding. Lest year blew.

Lest year blew because we had no plow. If we would have had a plow we'd have had plenty of ice time.

Feel free to buy/use gold max screws.. they suck and you will hate life riding on them. AMA Screws built by a professional like Jeff Ferdette will work and you will actually enjoy riding on the ice and NOT pile at every corner!

They use different front and rears so they can get the best bit outta the screws they install.... the kenda has a wide knob and a bigger surface to put the screws in.... same with the dunlop front.

one other thing... using gold screws or cold cutter from your local shop.... they fling the screws out on the big bikes.... and that means even less traction!

    Thanks Scotty!!

Ox you don't "need" these tires. But after one ride on them you will "WANT" them bad. Real bad. On the plus side. You buy a set of these tires and they will last you for 10 years. You spend 400 a weekend for a set of slicks. Those are gone on what 4 races?

Then you have ridden on some good canadian ones.

Ride a bike with gold screws and you'll go back to the 230 as underpowered as it was.

Bring both, we'll swap wheels and test the 450 with Motard clamps.

Blondes will be running, that is for sure.

I don't know why everyone is afraid to drop the coin on the tires. A set of slick is 400 and you use em for one weekend. These ice tires will last you 10 years if you take care of them

I can get a good deal on tire wraps for the ice tires. If we can get together an order for 8 sets I can sell them at $50 a set. They look like tires warmers and protect the screws from damage while loading and storing your ice bike.

Was clearing the ice really an issue last year? We only dropped the plow a coupla times on the lakes up here last year, but it really didn't need it. Within a coupla days after each snowfall, the lakes were pretty much clear and the surface was smooth & clean...

Yeah the plowing thing at least down here was an issue. We also need the plow to keep the track clear other wise on the corners you get some deep ice chips and some ruts. When it did snow it always seemed to be right b4 the weekend.
