Winter coming ICE RIDING

We never really did a 'course' though either. And it was always just 4-wheelers. But the surfaces of both lakes stayed pretty clean & solid enough for rippin' it up. And it's pretty easy to get from one lake to the other, we're pretty much sandwiched between the two...

Even after the heavier snowfalls we'd just wait a coupla days for the sleds to pack it all down. After those few days, the surface was usually smooth enough to not hafta bother cleaning it up. The most off-road plowing I did was keeping the path down to the lake clean in my backyard...

I don't know why everyone is afraid to drop the coin on the tires. A set of slick is 400 and you use em for one weekend. These ice tires will last you 10 years if you take care of them

it just isnt cost effective for me to drop $$ on tires for a bike that A) isnt mine and B) isnt mine
not to mention if something happens to it (motor) ill never hear the end of it

Yes ladies and gentlemen we are making ICE. The small pond around the southern NH area are already starting to ice over. Temps below freezing every night until tuesday is a good thing.

I didn't order any ice tires but I am doing the poor mans ice tire set up New tires + 5/8" golds = good enuff for my pace
Even down here some of the small ponds are iced over...I've never seen it this early before...global warming?

I went to Ghoram pond today, pulled out the Ice Auger and drilled a hole in the muthaaaaaafucccckin Iceeeeeeaaahhhhhhhh an ther was a good 10 inches.

So not this weekend but next weekend 1/10/08 and 1/11/08 I'm going to line up a plow and it's on like ice riding.

I never built an ice shack but I have a portable jobbie that will keep us warm.
