F it, just find like a newer 09 250f roller and put the 265 in it

On the yz forks, the awesome SSS valving forks are 2006 and newer

Heh, it's crossed my mind. The 450F is the roller to use for that though, the front frame has the 'Y' higher, no need to mount the engine at an odd angle to get clearance for the pipe. So far I haven't seen the right roller pop up yet...

06 or newer you say, back to the eBay!

I can only assume it's in worse shape than my WR, or hot... but man an 07 aluminum chassis would make a lovely home for my 265.

He was polite with me, apologized for the bike already being sold, so I was polite in return but forgot to suggest he'd get less calls if he took the dang listing down.

I thought your YZ was already an aluminum framed unit, what did you want this one for? B bike for woods?

ya dude, an 07 basically is the same exact bike as my 09. That cheap I could have worked on the motor and had a blue yz and a white yz! Basically no good reason but it would still rule and making one better for woods could be fun.

Wow, seller got back to me today, this could be a live one. He's asking $1k for it, haven't seen pics of the parts pile yet. I'm now approaching 'panic' time for deciding how I'm going to repair the WR before Stimilon.

Yeah, supposedly all there just in pieces, no title though... do you need a title for OHV registrations? (Didn't for my 92, but... it's a 92 so Maine doesn't care even if I was going for a highway reg.)

The WR's a hard sell with a wrecked front end. I just can't pull off 'sleazy' well enough to turn that trick. I also can't swing $1k for a basket case without a title, so it's kinda moot anyways.

I'm floored Paul's KTM is still on the market at that price. Didn't someone else unload a 2004 for a touch less with nowhere NEAR the spares/extras just recently on here?

It's only 6 hours / 330 miles from Boston...

I'm thinking if it's torn down enough, it's shippable. Does the USPS have a flat rate box big enough for a frame?

I discovered the right fork lug was stripped out as I was mounting new tires a bit over a month ago. The cost for a 16x1.5 timesert or helicoil kit with necessary drill and tap... $170. So I've been on standby watching for YZ250 basket cases ever since, figuring if I'm going to drop that much on repairing the front end, I might as well aim for either a newer front end and wheel for the same or a touch more, or shoot a little higher and score a whole rolling chassis that's in better shape. Worst case scenario I'm epoxying the axle in place for Stimilon.

geez dood...super shitty...can't grab a pair of used functional forks from fleabay?

I sold some non-leaky forks, and they only went for $50 (and were a PITA to ship)

my bike is also out of commission at the machine shop, and the mechanic there's father and dog both just died

so it'll be Stimilon 2012 for us!
