Didn't think you'd be interested, you're a buy new and keep it immaculate kind of guy. There is a nice value add with the bike in Billerica having FC suspension done recently, for a guy like me who buys used. I still have diapers and daycare to pay for

    Re: YZ250X vs XCW250

First ride report, short and sweet...

If this is a detuned YZ250, I'd almost be afraid to ride a non x..haha Throttle response and power is impressive, far better than the Xtrainer.

Suspension needs some adjustments, it feels very stiff up front. I have not touched any settings yet.

Dealer must have only put a quart or so of gas in it and I ran out about 1/4 mile from my house. On a good note, it pushes easily...haha

I'm going to order some cycra probend guards for it, and maybe a trail tech to track hours and miles

Looks mint. Should make you much happier overall.

I know they can be pretty good bikes but my general impression is that Italian birtbikes are just as durable as Italian road bikes..

The decision to buy a flywheel weight for my non-x was made between the onset of my second occurrence of whiskey throttle and miraculously saving it (again) from looping. They go like bats out of hell, which is awesome at a place like the sand at Southwick MX...for tight woods, it needs taming for sure.

Looks like it was a big shopping day, obviously not "dirty", but what does the tire/plate bracket on the other side of the truck belong to

I’ll get some proper pics this afternoon or tomorrow. Love the blue rims for sure, something different.

I've recently developed a real dislike for my WR's boring uncolored aluminum wheels. This is not helping.

    Re: YZ250X vs XCW250

Am I the only guy who *HATES* colored, anodized dirt bike rims? A few rides and tire changes and they look like total crap! Gimme plain old silver, so the inevitable scratches remain mostly invisible...
The Japanese bikes fit me better - They have lower seat heights, and more of a rider "pocket". The KTM's have a "sit on top" feel, that makes flicking side to side a bit tougher, slower...

I love the anodized rims when they are brandy new. But yeah. Silver it is for the long term. Japanese bikes are just easier to ride for various reasons.

    this guy is living life!

quick ride after work for me means either hitting an urban spot 10 mins from home, hitting a fire road 20 mins from work, or driving 1 hour from home. Beach city life has its negatives...

okay with the rims as long as they don't look dinged...probably not the best looking on any desert bike I'd own, but maybe something like that would work out well on R7's bike or typeone's bike

    Re: YZ250X vs XCW250

i don't mind the wear and scars on colored rims but you do need to be extra careful with Simple Green and other cleaners if anodized, the finish goes dull real fast. wiping down with WD or similar can help keep some depth and sheen. worth it for that extra spice over plain silver (to me).

with the way Mark cares for his bikes, i bet they will continue to look great but not much you can do about gashes, etc. as they get abused.

Ano rims are titties until the 5th tire swap. Then they’re just wheels.

    Re: YZ250X vs XCW250

At least my black KTM rims can be quickly, but temporarily touched up with a sharpie... I really want to love the YZX, but the lack of lighting, e-start, and a 6 speed transmission really keep me from even considering one. I guess that I have very specific needs and wants. My KTM EXC is not getting much use these days, but the NH Classic is coming up.... I have seen YZ's and YZX's at some NETRA Turkey Runs, so people are putting in the work to make them work.
