Maybe it was just a scare tactic/intimidate riders from doing anything in the future.

Maybe the police officers should be video taping people taking pictures if they're concerned with "future crimes"?

Ehh, I dont give a fuck. My bikes legal, I dont run, and I was checking out the action on stage. I got enough shit to worry about in life than some cops video taping my bike.

Well if it was a public safety issue why not answer the public’s questions? Is the condescending attitude necessary? Why the bold faced lie? It's easy enough to do your job and not be an ass about it.

Is it also their job to execute warrantless illegal searches?

It is a waste of tax dollars in my opinion because there are many more and greater threats to public safety that could be investigated. In a time when public servants are being laid off state wide these to cops were paid to video tape (sometimes doing it illegally) bikes on the minimal chance one of them may run from them.

Any lawyer worth a nickel would shred that piece of evidence in court, but you still would have to go to court if someone that matched your bike ran.

I once again ask, if this was for my safety and protection why act like a condescending dick when asked why they were videoing bikes.

    Re: Clarification regarding troopers 8/11/09

Think of it this way.. some guy on a blue R1 runs. the LEO gets the first 2 # of the plate. He can match it later. I don't expect them to call you out of the blue and say you were here and here's your ticket. One of the things that they are trying to curb is the asshats doing wheelies, stoppies, burnouts, racing in the streets. Last year there were 3 deaths 'associated' with motorcycle night. Packs of people riding too MCN acting like asshats or riding spirited. You have to be a little daft to think that if you're in a pack of 5 and get pulled over in Wilmington for driving recklace on a Tuesday night at say 6pm that the LEO doesn't know your going to MCN. Last year there was an accident that closed rt3 North cause some dude slammed into the back of a box truck while weaving in and out of traffic at exessive speeds. He didn't make it. Not this past week but the prior two weeks you were looking at attendance of over 1200 MC. If we just use our heads there wont be an issue. I don't think of it as intimidation.

On a closing note I like Steve and Heather, I added the MCN banner to my signature, they didn't ask me too. I am NOT associated with MCN or Steve and Heather in ANY WAY or form. I pay to be a vendor at their show 3 times and a guest like you every other week. The opinions are my own.

what illegal search have they executed? they video taped an event right? public view right? like someone said, i would be more worried if a civilian was to tape the event. unless i missed something that these troopers did asides from taping & touching gear. these troopers were probably assigned to that particular task to prevent crime and show some police presence. there's more to it then just video taping for the sake of the possibility that someone may run.

of course there are more serious crimes out there to deal with but they can't be at all places at all times. taxi driver's can make more money if they knew every fair that needed a ride

you're 100% correct about the condescending dicks part because it's very un-professional but how would u react if someone asked u the same questions over & over again in an accusing matter of fact tone? condescending dicks lol.... might i remind u that they are troopers.

They lifted a jacket to see the plate. That is a search. That's my only problem. The other shit, while BS in my opinion, is purely legal and I can do nothing about that.

Doesn't matter how I would react, my job is not to serve and protect. Well yet anyway

Again, not saying it didnt happen, just would like to see both videos.
Does it really matter? They admitted to "nudging" gear. It's not like they're denying it. If you physically pick it up and move it or casually (accidentally) brush it aside to view what your after it's still a problem either way.

Sheppo and Boloson I have to agree with you 100% That crash last year from that knucklehead on Rte 3 that shut the highway down caused a lot of riders the following week to get tickets. They had the helecopter and everything the following week.

I would have to think this is to curb the dumb ass's.

Good job, folks! You sure kept the crazy banter to a minimum.....

I made another official thread where Steve & Heather could continue updating us with REAL AND FACTUAL INFORMATION without all the speculation & conspiracy theories that you guys are spewing.... so feel free to keep bitching/gossiping about this here.

Well this "someone" is rather annoyed with your 'I work for the police, I'm so fucking cool" attitude. Its obnoxious. There are plenty of LEO's and other law enforcement related people on this forum, none of whom feel the need to talk about how badass they are and how they don't get tickets, they would have made the cops leave Lowell in 2 minutes, etc.

So get sick of it all you want, you've been here a month.

haha attitude? If i remember correctly you're actually the one who started, and as far as officers reading this well yea DUH so what, i ride with most of them anyways. Hell there the ones who gave me the MSF and license test.

I know that most police officers in Mass ride, harleys and street bikes. My attitude has nothing to do with the relationship between motorcyclists and cops, maybe the fucken retards who ride 100mph in the shoulder, or run away when getting pulled over, or just straight can't fucken ride and cause accidents. You can keep blabbing all you want i really couldn't give a fuck. Why does it matter if i'm here a month or if im here 4yrs.

You don't like it well keep it to yourself, honestly no one gives a shit about your opinion or attitude towards other members, really.
