Great time, the food rocked, lots of crashes.

And the weather was beautiful. No reason for all those red flags.

    Today's Track Day

My first track day. My life has changed. I have SEEN the light....and it is fuggin good.

There were quite a few wipeouts, I'm not sure why, I didn't actually see any of them happen, with the exception of a part of elaineo's bike falling off, hitting me, and leaving her disabled on the track...I think it was her front sprocket?

The old Franken-bike monstrosity ran good, and felt very hooked up. It was very confidence inspiring, and I think I learned more today on that bike than I have in the past 8 years riding on different bikes.

So, aside from some minor theft (Hey Nazo - you stole my brake lever, fukker ), today was absolutely awesome - I will definitely be back in the spring. With my ugly ass bike.

Nice man! Glad that thing didn't leave you stranded!

You hit what, 140? 150? down the straight?

Perhaps I'll be up there to play next spring for a trackday with the Z-Rex to see how Frankenbike is doin.

    Today's Track Day

Today was awesome... First trackday for me, and I was one of the ones who crashed. Can you say "target fixation"? Luckily mine was way minor, no big deal, cept for it causing the rest of my group to have to come in way too early...

I'll post up more details about it later. Fuggin good time!

Can't wait until the next one!

Sweet to meet a bunch of y'all.

    Cheers,
    Chris

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

    What a blast

It was great getting the call from Tony yesterday telling me he had a last minute cancellation and that he had a spot for me.

Being a new rider and having my first track day, I was excited but a little anxious. The classroom sessions and helpful instructors helped me to get comfortable and focus on my riding. It was a great feeling to be able to push my riding without having to worry about all the street riding dangers. I am glad that no riders down got really hurt (so far as I know).

Today was the most fun I've had on a bike so far, and I learned so much. It was nice to meet those of you whom I ran into & look forward to the next track day...!

    Thanks Everybody...

First and foremost, I would like to thank Tony and his crew running the track day... you guys are awesome! I've been to other track days at other tracks but I always have the most fun at Tony's track days! It's just so awesome how all the instructors are so attentive and willing to give personal instruction, plus the whole environment is so fun and laid-back... it's the best!

I would like to thank Nazo for trailering my bike up to the track. Chris, you are psychotic. I hope you heal soon

I would like to thank my sponsor Patricia929 for hooking me up with a helmet for this trackday

I would like to thank my pit crew, Brian and Joel, for helping me get my bike back together after it spit out a sprocket. Thanks for helping me trailer my bike back too!

Thanks to everyone else I pitted with and all the new people I met... I had a great time with all of you!!!

I would also like to thank Green Hornet for lending me his cover thing that holds the front sprocket. I'm really sorry your EX500 wouldn't run today, but without your part I would not have been able to ride today!! Good luck with your new bike

Finally, I would like to thank the cornerworkers who helped out today... track days could never happen without cornerworkers, and i don't think you guys get enough appreciation for cleaning up after all the messes we make on the track thanks for picking up my bike Half Squid!!

    Today's Track Day

I had a great day yesterday! Thanks so much to Tony, the instructors and corner workers for making it a great day. Also many thanks to those who helped me out with tools and spare nutz and bolts. Much appreciated.
I may have left a grey HJC helmet and Black Joe Rocket gauntlet gloves behind. I am hoping someone picked them up at the end of day. If you did they belong to Nazo (Crash Chris). Please let one of us know. Thanks!

Heh, indeed. I KNOW you saw me there Jay... I came over at the end of the day and chatted with Degs, Mike, and Sevens? briefly about Photochop.

So Nazo was the one who had the bad crash?

I guess there are two "Crash Chris'" here.. albeit one being quite a bit harder than the other...

    Cheers,
    Chris

Not Sevens. HalfSquid, me believes. I actually met a bunch of people, but everyone was intro'ing with their REAL names. Can't for the life of me figure out who was who in regards to screen names. You a tall, ugly bastard with a goatee (sp)?

    Today's Track Day

Great day guys! I was glad to help out and corner work. It was killing me to watch all of you have so much fun, and I cringed everytime I watched a rider go down. Saw a lot of close calls in Turn 3 that got my cringing also...

Elaine scared the crap out of me while watching her front sprocket come at me in turn three moving faster than she was!
When I realized what it was, I started flapped my arms franticly to slow her down worrying her chain would snag lock up the rear and highside her, but she was very lucky managed to coast up the hill and ended up just leaning and dropping the bike down. (Does not qualify as a crash!) Glad you survived!

I picked up about 5 or 6 other bikes during the day as well just in Turn 3 alone. You guys worked me good yesturday!

Picked Nazo's bike up twice. Hohums bike. Brian?? From ODFU (R6) picked up the black Motard once, the Older red CBR, and Elaine's.

I even had time to take over 300 pictures! I will post up the link to the album soon. I'll have 160 ready to post tonight, the rest probably by Monday.

    Mike

    Today's Track Day

I've got to agree with what's been said so far, just a phenomenal day, far exceeded my expectations given what we all thought the weather was like. Guess the motorcycle gods are smiling down on us once again, because somehow the skies managed to hold off on downpouring until precisely 5:01, just like the august day :hellyeah

Thanks to Tony for organizing these events time and time again, and keeping his composure despite the endless stream of red flags and identical crashes in turn three And to SuperDave for the excellent food, as well as for the cheap-as-hell neon green knee sliders...which, I might add, I managed to get down once in the bowl and nearly rode straight off the track from the surprise, not exactly the bright shining moment I thought it would be And to Mike and Courtney and the other cornerworkers as well, especially the ones who stepped up and volunteered when it looked like we weren't going to have enough, you guys rock!

And personal thanks to Jay and Degsy, Derek for setting my suspension straight and improving the handling of the bikes 1000% and Jay for patiently showing me the proper track line and then smacking a little sense into me when I proceeded to ignore it completely. It really is amazing how much more confident you can be out there when you finally see why all those white X's are where they are, took me nearly three full track days but I have finally seen the light

Sorry I never made it to margarita's too hang with you all, by the time I got the bike home and got out of the wet clothes I just didn't have the energy. Hope I'll get a chance to see a few of you again before the season's over, we still got a month or snow before the big W
