    Which bike for NYST?

KTM Duke 690 or Triumph Daytona 675? Is either bike a better fit?

As a reference, I prefer the KTM at NHMS, but always ride the 675 at NJMS.

That answer is fine. I'm trying to figure out if the track is too fast for the KTM. I've heard from a couple people that the KTM should be ok there.

I have fun flogging my SV there. Really is not too fast for a small bike.

Any bike is fine. This past weekend we had everything from 250 s to ZX-14s. All depends on which bike you feel like riding. Just don't be surprised when someone passes you on the straight.

    BOTH!!

I ran my KTM 450 and had a blast, Paul D also had his 690 and was hauling (like usual).

I also had my R6 and really had a good time with it.

I expected to spend more time on the KTM, but I had some laughs and went right back to the 600. Could have easily ridden either if them all day.

    +1 for both.

I've routinely brought more than one bike to a track day.

Both would be sweet, but don't hesitate to bring the KTM if that's what you are thinking. The track work equally well on big or small bikes.

    Re: Which bike for NYST?

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like either bike is viable, I just need to decide which one to go with now. I'm bringing a friend's bike as well, otherwise I would be all over bringing both bikes.

    Re: Which bike for NYST?

As everyone said either will be fun. Two triumphs binned it the time I went to NYST a Daytona and a Triple, no KTM's got dropped. There was a sweet RC8 there though, my 750 couldn't even come close to it on the straight.

I'm there with Fishtail this Sunday/Monday. Looking forward to it. I'll be the guy on the white KTM (probably...err maybe...damn, I don't know).
I'm bringing a friend's bike for him, so I'd have to install a center rail on my Kendon to hold three bikes if I want to bring both.

Is three bikes too much for those dual rail trailers? I bought the center rail mainly for the ability to bring three dirt bikes, I didn't look into 3 sport bike loads.

Whatever I have on there! Lol

I haven't touched the gearing since Loudon. 14/45 maybe? I'm not home right now or I'd take look at it.

    Re: Which bike for NYST?

The straight is long, but doesn't require very tall gearing. You come out onto the straight going pretty darn slow. My gearing is tall. I used 6th gear, but could not top it out like I do at Jersey. If you top out 6th at loudon, you will be just a little short for NYST, but not terrible.

    Re: Which bike for NYST?

Ya im running a 15 / 42 At Loudon hitting 1.21.2's but just bearly not topping out on the front straight....... so you think that would be fine? I have some other gearing but if I dont have to change it that would be ideal lol

    Re: Which bike for NYST?

Downtown gear it a little lower in the back 1-2 maybe.. I click into 5 on the hawk at the S/f Line at NHMS and not near topping out. I was topped out at NYST. Uptown not a problem.

Ya, 15/40 is what I run on the KTM. My final drive ratio may be a little taller though with the 6 speed. Not sure.
