Bike Transport for Oct 4th TTD

    Hello,

October 4th will mark my first trackday event, ever. Im working on figuring out how to get my bike to/from and have a couple options.

I have a friend willing to lend me a Ford Explorer, but he does not have a trailer and Uhaul will not rent a trailer to Ford Explorers.

If you have a small trailer that you're willing to lend, please let me know. Im located in the North Shore area of MA but willing to travel a reasonable distance to borrow a trailer.

I also have an offer from someone who is doing the race weekend to bring the bike up on friday, in which case I'd just need a way to get it home. Im willing to leave my bike up at the track if someone is staying for 2 or 3 days
but can bring my bike home with them afterward.

If you can help in some way/shape/from, let me know.

    Thanks

I'm getting creative this time. Having Peter Kates bring mine up for the race weekend, storing it in the ZTA garage (since I was supposed to be up there to race anyway, and decided not to), and renting a 10' box truck from Budget in Concord, one-way to bring it home after Wednesday's TTD.

The truck is going to run me $119 for the trip home.

Ill have to check and see what it would be for me. But I might end up with that as well.

I just found out a guy at work has an 09 Forrester with a hitch. I have to see if he will let me borrow it for the weekend, in which case i can just rent a trailer from uhaul for like $15/day.

Hopefully I can talk him into letting me take it. Uhaul not renting to Explorers really put a dent in my plans.

Worst case scenario i may see if he'll at least pull the uhaul trailer off the lot and then drop it off at my house and ill use it with the Explorer.

This really may have opened up some options for me

Hey, I'm over in Revere and probably not needing to use my trailer.
I'll be racing that weekend and working at the Oct 4th event.
You can grab my tailer one night after work next week and return it one night the following week.
Give me a call tomorrow or over the weekend 617-877-9286.

    Right from Uhauls website:

U-Haul has chosen not to rent behind this tow vehicle based on our history of excessive costs in defending lawsuits involving Ford Explorer towing combinations.
This policy is not related to safety issues. This is an unusual circumstance for U-Haul – we have built our success for over 60 years by saying 'yes' to our customers.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are committed to working with our customers to find alternative options to help with their move.
