Yoshimura also did a Formula X Hayabusa endurance racer about 10 years ago, but I can only find info on the street version, the X-1.

    highly not-recommended.

bike is too wide. Rad crashed his due to the size I believe.

I crashed mine on the street dragging hard parts around... will never do that again.
If you were just doing track days.. maybe.. at loudon.. but if you were going anywhere that's a high speed track, you will more than likely run out of ground clearance and eat $h1t.

You can drag hard parts at loudon just as easy as anywhere else. And you lose all the high speed benefits of the busa.

Yeah I know.. but the faster you go... the quicker things will drag. Loudon is a more technical course in my mind, so for a track day- OK. Racing- Hell no.

I rode my ZRX1200 on a track day on Tuesday and it was actually kinda fun. That thing is about 550lbs wet with less power, brakes and suspension than a Busa. It would be fine, just not fast.

i cant imagine why you couldnt do track days with it, but like everyone else says, if you get too extreme you'll more than likely drag and eat shit

I have.. on the street.. and been limping around for 3.5 years.. when I wasn't on crutches anyways. Scraped kickstand/stator cover/fairing/etc.. bike didn't really lowside, it pivoted on the road when I was knee down.

That Busa just looks scary being leaned over like that.

you can drag stuff just as much in T3 as you can in T8. Actually easier to drag stuff in 3 for most people since you really gotta get going fast to lean the bike over enough in 8 to drag anything. You have just as much chance at dragging parts in slow turns as you do fast turns. its lean angle not a high numerical speed that does it.

but as others have said a Busa at Loudon you lose all the speed benefits.

I wouldn't get one for the purpose of track riding, but if I owned one I wouldn't let it stop me from doing a track day. One of my friends just did his first track days on his ZX14 and had a blast.

That sums up what I was gonna say. There is a regular TTD customer who rides a Busa, and last event there was 2-3 ZX14's also.

    Re: Busa track bike

i remember watching that greaves bike in FX when i went to WSBK at laguna years ago. he would come out of T11, stand up, lean all the way over the windscreen and the bike would loft the wheel about a foot or so all the way to the S/F line

I did see a guy on a Busa do the beginner Penguin school back around 2005.
I'm not sure if he ever did the rookie race though.

That guy is my bother. he ran a Busa for 2008 and 2009, switched to a CBR1000RR for 2010. 209rwhp 115rwtq was way better after the Marvic wheels and Diablo Supercorse. Lots of grinding on the lowers and engine cases from the turns.
