    Camping/Pitting for Penguin

I'm doing Penguin tomorrow (track experience), and have a few questions:

I'm driving up tonight, planning to camp with a tent. Where should I set up shop? Will there be room to set up the tent next to my car and trailer? Or should I drop the trailer somewhere then go set up the tent?

Where will I be pitting for Penguin tomorrow? Garages? Outside?

If you're camping with a tent I'd pitch it in the infield between turns 2 and 3. On the right as you come through the tunnel if you're not familiar with the track. It's about the only grass around. There'll be lots of space to park and tent. Get your bike, etc set up in the garages with Penguin tonight.

The other advantage to that area is that there is a bathroom and shower facility right across.

The only downside is that if people come in late they wake you up.

Penguin uses the north garages. You can pretty much setup wherever there is room, IIRC. Avoid the very first garages near the track as they use that for registration and instructors. Avoid the very last set of garages in the first section as they use that for tech and John Owens (the photographer) sets up there. Anywhere in between.

As cool as Brian is ( ) I would setup there unless you are super familiar with the place. Most of the instructors/control-riders/action will be there.

I've been to NHMS a fair number of times and even I don't know what the hell Bubs is talking about. There's valuable information somewhere in his blurb, if only I could crack the code!

Doh. Well, I tried. I guess I'm trying to say pick a garage in the middle of the set of garages closest to the track in the north garages. Garage 1 is used for...

..Ah, phuck it! He'll figure it out or find someone more helpful than me, one of the two.

Pop-up tents are amazing! Where were these in my childhood? Took me literally 1 minute to setup a very sizeable tent. It was a Coleman brand "instant" tent, I would highly recommend it.
