If your spacers currently give you fits changing wheels, they're worth it. If they're well behaved and stay in place on their own already, no.
at the last Bomo day I managed to put my rear wheel on without dropping either spacer even once. It was a miracle. I was so happy.

That's the problem with precision machines like 600cc SS bikes.
On my SV, the rear wheel fits with about 1/2" of space on either side, then you crank down the axle nut to bend it back to contact the wheel.![]()

My FZR has captive spacers, SOOOOO would spend $60 for this convenience.
Never heard of these but I'm definitely buying some, my spacers fall out if you look at them wrong.
What company makes them and what do they look like? As in, what mechanism or design feature makes the captive?
EDIT: Nevermind. I found a youtube video. Simple, easy-squeezy to make.

I'm saying that it's a simple "adaptation" of standard spacers and I could also do it easily.

I do that and have for years. The difference is that I only have to pull the wheels off once a year or so for tire changes. A race or even heavy track day participant might be at it more, and I can see where the little bump in the small O,D. to help retain the spacer on there and especially if combined with the chamfered/radiused flange, would all help make for stress-free changeouts. In low volumes I could make spacers that incorporate both features, easily.

Zoran sells them at twfracing.com for only specific wheel, usually those used with SVs.

One thing to consider is that you may need to buy different bearings designed for the captive spacers, which means no longer using a stock bearing or stock substitute (like All Balls). The bearings would have a larger inner diameter to accommodate for the spacer.
