    Car Day for Bike People!

Thanks Jay for letting me post this here.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to drive your car on track? Not ready to go drive with full on car trackday nuts? Come join a bunch of bike racers/trackday people for a laid back day of driving at Palmer Motorsports Park in your street car on April 27th.

We tested this concept last fall and everyone had a blast. Limiting it to 48 cars. Four 15 minute sessions per hour (so you don't roast your street brakes and tires). All you need is a sound, tight car and your race helmet. Convertibles need a roll bar above head height. More info below. We'd love to see some NESR people out there!

We will have some car instructors giving us the rundown, and we will have beg/int/int-adv/adv groups, but this is largely a Hang out with bike people and check out what it's like to drive your car on track thing.

Anybody got a Miata I can borrow for a day? I, uh, just want to take the wife for a nice ride in the country.

Here's a cool vid for learning the line in a car. Similar to a bike line but witha tendency to use late apex lines where we might double apex. Turns 4 and 7 for example.

If it’s a convertible with a hardtop like an PRHT Miata does it need a roll bar?

my Civic SI would be fun for this... interested but I know my motorcycle helmets are too old to pass inspection.

not going to buy a new helmet just for this when I dont even have a bike anymore and im a good 2 years away from another one.

Very interested, unfortunately just a little short notice I think. When do sign-ups end? I guess with 48 cars first come first serve - is it expected to sell out?

It looks like we will have openings right up to the event. Don't hesitate to email kerry@tonystrackdays.com with any sign-up questions.

The Civic Si is a PERFECT trackday car. Let's make this happen. email kerry@tonystrackdays.com with any questions on helmets, etc.

It's really fun. Orders of magnitude less dangerous (and less addictive) than bikes on track IMO. But sure as hell makes for an enjoyable day and exploring the limits in your car is a great thing to do.

Re: Car Day for Bike People!

Are passengers allowed in cars? Provided they have a helmet? This looks kinda fun.

Any idea what the field of cars is like? I am looking at this as a fun 1 day event to toss my little car around. Drive there, drive it back. There is no part of me that wants to run this if it's going to be full of highly modified cars. I would be in people's way.

That's exactly what it's about. I know there are some wrxs, Bmw 3 series, an alfa SUV, a Hyundai, so a bit of everything. We will sort groups by experience/speed. Passengers are allowed with helmets as long as their stomachs can stand it! hahaa.

Shit man! I was seriously considering this. But I HIGHLY doubt the Corvette will be on the road by than, and currently the CTS is a lawn ornament.

Awesome thanks. I changed my post before you got to it but you answered my question anyways. I don't want to be the boat anchor of the group.

My buddy and his girl are signed up and taking an Audi TT Coupe he's been working on. In true track day fashion he has removed the back seat. Thankfully my 228 is a convertible as this would be too tempting.

That's awesome. Long range forecast looks great. There is still time to sign up, or show up at the track and pay cash there. If you are planning to just show up, please email kerry@tonystrackdays.com and let us know you are coming.
