I looked at one company RideSmart it was $460 for one day without rental. California Superbike School has a two day with rental at $3700

Yup, I do ridesmart, and yup, its 460 bucks. Plus more if you want a garage.

    And its completely worth it.

Pittenger5 seems to have a much better handle on bike days at COTA than I do. I've heard great things about Ridesmart, and I'm considering their event in March. As far as rental bikes go, that might be tough. I know a guys that rents 300's at Harris Hill, but COTA would be boring as hell on a 300.

There's been 300s and supermoto's at Cota (even a scrambler last event I was at). I wouldnt discount it, the straights would be boring as hell, but I still think they would be fun.

I feel like a Supermotard would require a rebuild before finishing the back straight..

When I attended in 1989 in Loudon, they were selling Dianetics books by L Ron Hubbard...is he still doing that?

I'm riding down, but that probably isn't any cheaper than a flight. Cheap(ish) Microtel hotel near the track and the school provides a big breakfast and lunch.

    Re: COTA Track days

Two days on the BMW S1000RR and a trip on the Slide Machine @ COTA.... Yes it's an expensive trip but one with memories that last a lifetime. Then you get to watch MotoGP in April and annoy everyone with your comments on what turn 13/14 is really like.

I'd rather do this than a cruise or Aruba for a week at a 5 star. COTA on a super bike sounds like an awesome time. Money? Meh... It's time that is important. Make the most of it.

So still lurking on this looking at options

CSS Aug 14-15 is $3750 its a Monday-Tuesday then theres a Wednesday only for $1100 as much as Id rather do two days the cost difference is certainly worth it. Flight out plus room and food I should be there in back for under $1500.

I had heard rumors that CSS makes you run the BMWs in rain mode, i.e. you can't use all the power. I've also heard that if you crash (even a tiny one!), you're done for the day. Would love to figure out if those are true
