    T3 in the dry
Ran off in 9 at speed but didn't go down. Does that still count?

T1a (went too wide around the outside of someone in 1, hit the curb)
T2 (cold, started raining just before I arrived, lost the rear on my way out)
Start/Finish line (got clipped from behind on the start, scariest of the 3 and the one that hurt most)

Turn 6-twice, 3 & 2. Plus innumerable run offs in nearly every turn. Here's a look at my first crash in 6. It seems like only yesterday...

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

    pretty much.

But seriously... I'd be willing to bet my own twig & berries that you made a 2nd steering input to help trigger that lowside. If you watch that video seconds before the crash and you put your finger where the horizon meets the edge of the screen, you'll see the horizon go up a split second before you lost the front. That indicates to me that you added a steering input just before you lost traction... Where you went down you should be done turning, rolling back to neutral throttle and ready to start standing the bike back up. It seems to me that while you may not have been off the gas, you were still turning.

There are plenty of people who never crash at a trackday. They just aren't represented in this thread. In my nearly 100 trackdays, I have fallen once.

Anyway, xrocket ithink it would be worth another try. It's not as easy to crash in the dry. Not by a long margin.
I've had just two track day crashes since 2004... the first I blame on inexperience (damp conditions, spun the rear, tank slapper, went off track at my 2nd track day). The other I blame on a moment of weakness and a lack of clarity (late in the day, decided to get some hot laps in while trying a new line on cold tires... dummy)

hell I can beat that. I crashed in the garage. locked the front and tucked it. the VT douches sat there laughing at me instead of helping me pick it up. I don't blame them, I deserved it.

I've always trucked up, I live 2 hours away. My first crash I was especially glad I trucked up with a friend so I had someone to schlep me to the ER and then to tow my trailer and bike home while my inlaws drove me and my car home.

    Re: crashes at loudon

I used to ride up. It's a commitment. You need the bike to ride home, so you have to be cautious, plus, a two hour ride home after a full day on the track is exhausting. From the Boston area it wouldn't be bad. We have a fair # of people still doing that.

    Yeah. None were rider error.

I drank enough Southern Comfort once that the floor in my bedroom punched me in the face.

Brady rides to the races, strips his lights and saddelbags off and races. then rides home. he's got balls but I still think he needs a truck or trailer.

20+ trackdays, I rode to every one, rain or shine, with tools and spare levers. But you're right, not many people do it anymore. There's still not much chance of crashing if you focus on incremental learning, patience and staying relaxed instead of trying to go fast.

It was a worthwhile adventure, and I proved it could be done...but I bought Paul_E_D's trailer before Christmas so the ride and prep will be easier this year!
