A group of us are staying at the Red Roof Inn.
Any suggestions for dinner nearby?
Anything above a Big Mac is fine.
Makris is good and can handle large groups with ease.
It's about 1.5 miles south of the RRI. Just north of 393. Everything from Lobster to burgers.

Makris is certainly the local favorite.
Reliably good if you're up for New England style seafood. One recommendation, sit in the bar area. It's much more "inviting" in my opinion than the restaurant proper. For some competition to Makris there is also a Weather Vane on Rt 4, just east of the 106 intersection,or Newicks seafood to the west. All are reasonably similar. We tend to visit the Bar at Makris more than the other 2.
A little farther from red roof are some of the popular chains in Concord on Louden road. Ruby Tuesday, TGIFridays, Olive Garden, and I think a Longhorn just west of the intersection of 106 and 4.
For something a bit more out of the way, a place I go about 1 / wk is Dominick's in Chichester. It's probably about 10 miles from the track, but is a family run Italian place. There are a total of 3 waitresses there. Mom and 2 daughters. Strong Italian menu and strong seasonal specials. Not necessarily cheap, unless you get the pizza (which is a thin crisp crust), but good.
I've also heard good things about Parker's, which is across the street from Dominick's, but I still haven't actually been there.

If you want bad food in large portions, try the Red Apple Buffet in Concord. We used to go to that place when I was in college. American, chinese, mexican, italian, salads, dessets, ice cream, etc, and it's cheap.
Thanks all. We went to Makris and the dining room was nearly empty. For reference, the kitchen closes there at 9pm and 10pm in the bar.
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
This place is fun and pretty good too..........

Yea, ichiban and moritomo are actually both good. I prefer the sashimi at moritomo, but the hibatchi at ichiban is better IMO. Both are good, neither are cheap (but I've also never gone to either and not eaten in the hibatchi).
For Moritomo, reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. I've had better luck getting into ichiban "last minute".
