    dual temp tire warmers

I was looking to buy a set of dual temp tire warmers. The ones I was thinking of get are Suzuka, Moto D and Woodcraft. I would like some opinions on witch ones would be the best to buy?

I'd buy the woodcrafts for the sheer fact that if something goes wrong (switch, controller, whatever) you can likely have them fixed pronto. Like now.

The dual temp is for rain tires. I was looking at the Moto D due to it has a 2 year warranty even if it's my fault. For the other 2 they have 1 year and if it's my fault warranty is void

The Woodcraft warmers are really hard to screw up. Unless you do something enormously stoopid and cumbersome, taking them off the bike will disable them. You really have to try to mess them up.

You'd be the only one using warmers on rains.

You won't be able to tell the difference between warmers and no warmers on rains. That better?

    Re: dual temp tire warmers

I haven't tried the latest MotoD units, but I did find they are slightly easier to get on a bike where there is little clearance for snaking warmers on/off compared to Woodcrafts. No curtain and slightly smoother/slicker outside material. Still not as thin as ye olde tire bakers though.

How come you haven't made a pair of warmers made out of insulating material they use in aerospace and electrical circuit that drops circuits at nhms. LOL

In all seriousness, I randomly noodle on what it would take to make a tire warmer that works from the inside of the tire, so when you get heat on the outside you KNOW the whole carcass is good and warm.

"Hot Wheels" seems like a catchy name.

    Re: dual temp tire warmers

Yeah, I've had my Woodcrafts for....... 8 years, now?

Finally had one die on me this past year at a race weekend... I walked over to Eric in the North Garages, he was able to tell me exactly what it was and how to fix it. Borrowed a warmer for that weekend just due to convenience, but later, 10 minutes with a knife & a soldering iron and it was up and running again.

Try having that experience with any other brand.

    ?

My suzuka's are nothing like the chicken hawks I've bought. Chicken hawks are way thicker. That change in the last 7 years?

    Re: dual temp tire warmers

Woodcraft's customer service would make me suggest them. Eric is personable/helpful and his shop crew will work with you, they sent me loaners for 3 months.

Bonus - you're supporting a local business (Templeton, MA).

Bad info, Suzukas are not re-badged chicken hawks. Suzuka is a lower cost brand operated by Chicken Hawk as a means of offering a lower cost unit without any impact to their main brand's prestige. So yes, there are differences in construction.

Why are there two settings on the warmers?

I'm going to go with NOT one for rains and one for dry tires

Probably more like a lower temp setting for those who would want to keep some heat in their tires during longer breaks in time on track and the higher setting to get their tires ready to head out on track soon.
