I arrived at the track and took the bike in after a few laps of the first session because it was down on power. Get ready for the second session and it won't start, so I jump it. Dies before I get it on track. I'm thinking something's really messed up with my bike. Turned out to be a dead battery cell, even though the battery was less than 1 year old and on a tender most of the winter. Threw away a $250 track day when I could have just bought an $80 battery.

Not a track day, but I did once ride over to Larz Anderson for the Tutto Italiano get-together on the wrong day.
I'm still lolling over this... Glad you made it to NY tho!

Not laughing out loud when a certain guy from RI (who has a customized S1000RR and a Kawi H2 supercharged) told a guy in front him at the Red Roof breakfast area straight faced that he was smooth as Lorenzo, and disappointed in tire quality as his old track bike was a ZX6R and could spin the tire on corner exit on only a 600. I just said to him this is the point when I can't talk to you anymore, when I should have laughed and had chocolate milk come out of my nose.

Last SCCA Track Night was 10/4 at Thompson. Thought sure I’d registered. Get to Thompson, unload car, walk in with tech sheet right at 3:00pm - not on list. Home by 5.....

Ah, I get it now. Just couldn't see him through the thick cloud of his vape.

I don’t really fit in with the GSX-R crowd, being old and slow. Can’t do much about the former.
I remember you saying something like that about the Harley crowd. I remember thinking something like it can't possibly be that bad or something.
Then I bought a Harley. You were straight up 110% right. I almost hate myself by extension just for owning the same brand machine. It's astonishing.
Moral here is that I guess I should probably not buy a GSXR. Shame, a GSXR600 looks like a fun track toy.
Track day GSX-R riders are pretty normal. Great choice. Power is amazing.
I just had my R6 apart for motor maintenance. Cleaned it up like new, put it together in time for a 3 day event at Palmer. Rode well the whole event. Motor was mint. Then, I went out in the last session and threw it at the scenery. Decidedly stupid.
