I have been jonesing for a track day and couldn't wait any longer for April.
I just signed up for California Super Bike School at Laguna Seca on March 2-3I will be riding their BMW1000RR. I am psyched!
Would love some friends along to enjoy the experience this, any takers?

Sweet!
I just read about them switching to the S1000RR, should be a blast to ride! I'd love to ride Laguna someday, just to say I did, and that's the most economical way to do it.
Have fun!

Nice! Mind if I ask how expensive a trip like that is?
I wish I had the coin to go.
I'd love to ride the RR too.
Umm if I can find a medical conference near the track i am in!

I had a chance to do a TD there many yrs ago. It was in December, 350 bucks and 8 hrs drive. We figured entire trip would be over a grand with gas, hotel and tires and such. Didn't do it, wish I would have done it now.

I can't imagine what the S1000RR is going to be like around that track. The thing is putting out BIG HP numbers right out of the box. Far more than the 848 I rode there and the 848 was wheelying and wagging all over the place.... make sure you right wrist is under strict manners man
PS: actually some good tips for riding Laguna Seca in my report. Here's a tip. hit the gym. you'll need it. oh yea, buy a XBOX and practice, it helps.

I did CSB there a few years ago. It was a fun track. One thing to watch for though is track temp. We had a really cold day and there were a lot of crashes. That was on the Kaws; the S1000RR's traction control should help.
Have fun!!

$675.00 per day for the school including bike rental. Yeah, expensive but I am worth itNice! Mind if I ask how expensive a trip like that is?and I can't to VIR this year so I can try to justify that way.
Thanks for the advise, I will read the thread and kick my kid off of the xbox. I suspect they may select the lower power settings/traction control and reserve the "slick" setting until one can demonstrate that they can manage it.I can't imagine what the S1000RR is going to be like around that track. I spoke with Keith Code at the NYC show on Saturday and he said they might put it on "Rain" mode for the first couple sessions, but then set it to "Sport" mode after that. He didn't think the power would be an issue, because most people can control themselves. And besides, learning to manage the throttle is a learning experience. Right?
HAve fun!

A bit of change of plans... When I originally signed up for the Laguna Seca dates were available per their web site. Unfortunately, subsequent to my signing up I was notified that the Laguna dates were filled and they failed to update their web site.
Now I will be riding Sears Point (Infineon Raceway). Not exactly Laguna in fame and recognition but still a warm weather track, an AMA level track, videos of the track look fun so I am in for March 15-16. Still psyched!
