all are a bit of a drive but no further then the next road course. Boxshop in Maine, OVRP in NY, beaverun, VIR and a few others I can't think of. And when was the last time anybody loaded up a 600 and had hours of fun in a parking lot?

OVRP and Boxshop are both better as 250 tracks IMO, and they run SUMO in NJ as well... those 3 are closest for the new england guys.

Agreed on Boxshop, small track, I'm surprised the 250s do as well as they do on it. Still fun place to play though.

I'm really unsure now what I want. I was dead set on a motored a week ago but now I think I might be getting in over my head. I know two things though. I'm uncomfortable on my gsxr and it's not very crash worthy. I could lOad it up with sliders and covers and maybe get a stock peg setup. That would get me some more rood and crash protection. I want a bike with track specific suspension but I do t know if it's worth spending the 1500 on a 13 year old bike or just getting rid of it and picking up something else. I wanted the sumo for more room and crash worthiness. I dunno what to do.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a chassis style that fits YOU, so if that means a tardy style mount, I'd go there.

If you're looking to race and be competitive, a motard is going to require time and money to keep in good shape.

If you're just looking to hoon it up at track days, a 'mild' motard like a CRF450X vs a built CRF450R should do fine without being as much of a grenade. A true street targeted mount like a DRZ400 will hold up even better with less maint, but it's heavier and even slower.

Well, I bought a KTM 520. I may convert it but I may still look for another street bike.

Good luck finding a sumo that will do 120.
Not sure how accurate the speedo was, but I saw 120 on the speedo of my SXV550 on the front straight of VIR

I got a bike now. A ktm 520 exc. I'm unsure if I'm ging to convert it now. I am toying around with the idea of an sv or raising my seat height for more comfort.

Jc you can buy my streetbike and put money into the suspension instead of your gsxr
