    Yet again, Tires.

Hi all - looks like I'll be taking my FZ1 to NJMP this weekend - couple of questions.

Current tires (Pilot Power 2CT's) have 2 track days and ~1500 street miles on them. Do these need to go?

If so, are race takeoffs a good idea (if I can find somone with a set), or should I go for something else? I've been happy with the Pirelli DOT Dragon Supercorsas on my SV. I plan on taking it easy - the FZ doesn't have the ground clearance that the SV has...

I was debating Power Pure's or Dunlop Q2's (which seem to be the cheaper option). Either way, I need to get this resolved in the next few days...

Do you change your oil at 2500 or 3000 on the dot?

    Re: Yet again, Tires.

Thanks guys. I'm not the type to change out things unnecessarily, but in light of the fact that I found a really good deal on some Power Pure's (a tire I've been wanting to try) I decided to go for it just for piece of mind. I'll hang on to the current rubber for future use (I have tire changing equipment).

If you have to think about then probably. This decision could always keep you thinking about the tire when you should be concentrating about your riding.

It's funny how many people ask if their tires are OK for the track.... I've always gone off the belief that when in doubt, get fresh rubber. Much cheaper than the alternative, and w/ street stuff as you mentioned... you can always spoon some older tires back on.
