    NTEC ejuhashun needed....

I grabbed a set of NTEC 211gp's for the track this year. Soft rear (7614) and a medium front (6342). Mounting them was a test of wills especially the front. Got me thinking it seemed to be harder than what I expected a medium compound tire to feel like. I poked around the intrawebs and it looks like the "medium" compound is pretty hard.
If anyone has experience with these, are they too bricklike to run early season/cooler trackdays with? I've got warmers so that isn't an issue, but I'm most concerned about having the front slide out.
I can get a set of Pirelli slicks as a (costly) backup, but rather not spend the scratch.
    Thanks for the help peeps.

Question 1. Harder front and softer rear? Maybe I'm missing something, but I think you have it backwards.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

I ran medium fronts with no issues all year - got 4 races out of em. I ran Med-Soft rears (got 2 races out of them) because I couldn't afford to put soft tires on each race.

You'll be fine, stop being typical NESR and worrying about 458 things while you're out there - use warmers, be smooth - and listen to your bike - it is trying to talk to you.

they were hard to get mounted because the carcass is really stiff. mounting tells you nothing of how much grip they have. I take it you had Pirellis before, they have the softest carcass of them all.

Yea you'll be fine... might burn up that soft rear reasonably quick but you'll survive with the med front just fine.

    Wirelessly posted (HTC EVO "DROID" : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; Sprint APA9292KT Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

Depending on the bike you might wear through that rear pretty quick. Nhms eats soft tears, even on my sv.

Pressures on n techs are also waaay different. Your somewhere in the neighborhood of like 24 front 20 rear. And you NEED warmers (i know you said you had them) but they will feel like ice without any heat in them. Check with dunlop for pressures, and run your warmers. If these are for trackdays, then I suggest going a little less "race" for tires.

33f/23r hot on the warmers (40mins or so) should be a good starting point for pressures.

Thanks, I knew it was something low.
23 hot is like 18-20 cold
