I would hate to see this track go, I really like the track and the people. However, I am sure they can just resubmit for next year and be fine, the larger issue is people continuing to have to modify their bikes.

It was a real bitch to swap a 250 engine into my daytona last time. I just don't think this feasible for me to do all that work every time I want to ride there!

I just pulled a sparkplug and left 75cc of T12 mud in the other cylinder. Easy

When explaining the use of superbikes on the course, Henry said bikes arriving in excess of the allowable 250 cc’s were being modified down to conform to the ruling

Actually laughed out loud for that one, I love that the people in charge of taking the track away have no freaking clue.

The unfortunate thing, they probably already know and are saving that for round 2. Even more unfortunate, any and all credibility of NYST and it's lawyers will be in jeopardy because of it.

I've seen it happen over and over with MX tracks, dishonesty is a short term fix, with a long term cost

Instead, they should have been there with head counts from every day they have operated since the ruling.

I deactivated 5 of the 6 cylinders on my Goldwing, but was still over the limit so I couldn't go.

Unfortunately my 1.8 liter bike is probably one of the quietest manufactured, but locals believe that ccs = dbs so yeah.

I really hope this works out for the NYST guys.

Anyone who was there a couple weeks ago would agree that my 39cc pit bike is louder then some big bikes lol

That little bike certainly kills the 2-stroke vs 4-stroke noise myth...lol

If we all want to enjoy NYST and for them to stay in business, we should shut the hell up on Internet forums, and not give elaborate ideas to the opposing sides. Seriously, a google search probably picks up NESR and other forum comments and useless conjecture by all of us isn't helping NYST.

Fair enough. I've avoided posting a lot of my thoughts in this thread for that reason. And I don't actually think it is going to change anything. But I removed all of my comments. I would recommend you edit your post to not quote me.

There is precedent: Guys in WERA regularly take 600s and remove one one cylinder's fuel injector's fuel lines, defeating the cylinder. That leaves them with a race ready 475cc machine to race down a class in.

I heard some good news this past weekend and am feeling more confident that the track will remain open and most, if not all, restrictions removed.

Time will tell, but we just had 2 beautiful days there and those in attendance had a blast - so I'm hopeful things pan out.

I rode with TTD today. That place is amazing. The staff is cool. But most especially the track is out of this world.

I really do hope them all the best.

Nice to finally meet you in person this weekend, and I agree fully. The track just gets better as you go faster, too! Interesting stuff happens each time you dial up the pace.

I have now done more days at NYST than NHMS. I really hope there are more to come. Love, love, love the track.

Yeah. I dialed up the pace in 1 and found out my SV is actually a dual-sport.

I need to find my way out there for an 'uptown' day.

GXSR600's are cutting a cylinder and running a 450 class in AFM out west as well.

Oh no! If I disable a cylinder, my SV still doesn't make the 250cc cut-off.
