This video was shot 4 days ago at PMP. Track looks REALLY techincal, way more then even NYST. I wish there was a true front straight and some more straight sections. Looks really fun though but there is little to no margin for error (or runoff for that matter). Im doing both days at the end of May. Looking forward to what they can do over the next few weeks to finish it up. Raised curbing would be nice..

There are no straights really. It is waaaaay wider than NYST though, so a lot of the runoff is actually ON the pavement. The walls lining the inside visually close it down quite a bit. Looks like the Macau GP course! Watching it back to back with Thompson, runoff is similar. We won't really know how it plays out til we ride it. I'm excited! Caution is the better part of valor...
Looks super sketchy in the video, but I think the perspective from inside the car is partially responsible. I'd still love to give it a try.
Tony and I will be doing a track day in our cars on Friday. Can't wait.
Why do you say that? Sketchy as in unsafe, or just shabby and unfinished?
My concern is the shabbiness. May 2nd is only ~3 weeks away from the track day I signed up for, and it looks sandy with junk laying around all over the place.
As for safety, are people concerned by the walls? I am not sure why that's a concern? Loudon's got a wall? At more than one place in fact.
As for layout, I too would like to see a straight or two. "gas brake gas brake" all the time gets real old, and straights balance out the choppiness of tight sections nicely. It's also one of the only faults I personally have with Thompson - all the turns are pretty much hairpins making for a whole lot of maintenance throttle and there aren't enough straights between them to minimize the gas-brake-gas-brake.

I am ok with constant gas, brake, gas, brake aspect but I wish there was a true front straight. The bend in the front straight will make passing dangerous. I will ride the dead-center of that front straight to avoid what happened to me last year at TMP when some clown clipped my rear tail with their bar end trying to squeeze between me and the grass.
Sketchy as in unsafe. Loudon's walls are mostly at the top of significant positive camber, covered in airfence, and generally not right in front of you as you enter a fast corner. The two tight corners in the video look like there is not much between the edge of the track and the walls, the whole way around.
This is not a gas/brake track... it will flow nicely.
Long term plan is to have some airfence in the areas that are tires now. Short term plan is Nascar tires in front of the car tires that you see.
We have a fix for Turn 1/2 also.
Stay tuned for more after Ken and I ride it. I hope they get a sweeper in there before hand. Otherwise it's going to be a drift day!
i like what i see.. a lot
Looks like a lot of fun, really digging all of the elevation change. The rollercoaster ride is what I enjoy most about NYST, looks like I won't have to drive 5 hours to get it now.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
OH boy. The elevation looks amazing. My first day back on track may have to be here. I'm a little skeptical about the safety as well, so I'm looking forward to seeing your review after you drive the cages.

Gas-brake, gas-brake never gets old.
Spoken like a true commuter. Throw a turn between each, and then I agree!

That place has turns. And hills.
Sweet. A little intimidating for my first track day but still looks like a lot of fun. End of May cant come soon enough.
TTD has been through this before and it looks like this place will stick to the script as well.
1 - design a car track
2 - allow motorcycles, but give us little to no help in year one
3 - After we prove ourselves (easy to work with, minimal injuries, paying on time)
4 - Track sees value in bikes and begins to invest in more items to help keep us as renters.
this particular day is sold out for beginners.
I am hoping I enjoy the track in a car... might be something for "down the road".

I have been requesting no first timers at Palmer because there may not be a classroom.
I say "may not" because I just heard they might have a temporary classroom set up.
Sit tight for now... I will know more after my car day there this Friday. If they actually have a classroom, then we can do a few first timers.
