What does the paddock area look like for the first event (flat, paved)?
Be sure you are on the ttd email list... One will go out Thursday after the staff testing day. Right now, expect dirt for the most part, but we should be able to keep the bikes on paved areas.

I actually was wondering which bike would be better, the tard or the r6? It looked like a fairly fast track from the video.

FYI, spots for Monday are getting very scarce. Tuesday is still looking OK
Hey Tony, still considering doing this but wanted to ask some Q's:
1. No power, correct? I don't ride without warmers, so would need a gen or something.
2. Do you yet know if you're going to create any of those "cone chicanes" or just ride the track as is?
3. Does the track intend to grow grass or lay sod/rock? Just wondering if/when the dust/dirt blowing issue will be sorted out. I assume it will NOT be sorted by memorial day.
4. You'll be running a black group, any idea on the rules and such for that for Palmer yet?
Thx

Most likely a chicane between one and two. Will know more Wednesday. Only three groups for the first event... 20 minute sessions. Rules tba, but mostly passing on the straight sections as there are plenty of them, and the corners can be tricky.
i meant, its a busy track and by just watching the video it seems like it will minimize the HP gap a bit. NYST is little bike friendly, as is NHMS. Thompson definitely benefits HP bikes.
i dont get bored of tracks. no NHMS TTDs scheduled though.
yup, both days
wow...
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

This looks like a sweet track!
You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style
Yeah, I get your standpoint. I have race tires and like them to be hot on pit out. I don't want to tear them up trying to get them to temp, or putt around waiting for them to be hot, or wonder if the carcass is actually fully heated up all the way through, or even to really have to think about it at all. If I was on a street bike and street tires it would be a different story.

i havent run warmers in a couple years since my rear quit working. usually a lap at half speed and then another lap a little faster and they are good. this also depends on length of track and grippyness of track. this track is over 2 miles long with new pavement so id venture that i may only need to do a lap to get up to a temp where i can start adding speed.
throwing the warmers on after a session (not plugged in) will help hold in heat as well between sessions

Might as well buy two rears and a backup front for cheap from me, then: http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...e-warmers.html

not a bad idea. i may just do that.
i will add t5hough that with places like NYST, TSMP and PMP not having readily available power and me not having a generator, even if i had warmers that worked, id still most likely not be running them.
when they worked i would plug them in in the morning and right before the session after lunch. the rest of the day i just wrapped them to hold in some heat.
nope. picking my bike up and fixing it gets real old after the first time though

Understood... and if you can ride a whole session full speed then they make sense.
I bet most riders cannot go full pace for an entire session.
If you are going to do a couple of easy laps each session anyway... why not make them your first two?
Again... if you have warmers, then great... use them. I am just trying to get new riders away from the, "I can't do trackdays until I get warmers" philosophy.
