You forgot that I have at least 20 lbs on you. :poke: Oh wait, that would be MY excuse.

Doc sux.
Edit: as someone who's made an ass of himself on more than one occasion on this board (while still remaining a good intentioned human) I'd expect you'd be most sympathetic.

Re: Did my Penguin Basic School Today
Wow.......
There is so much fail in this guy's posts, I don't even know where to start.
Humble pie tastes like shit and I suggest you cancel your order. I had a cool time at Penguin this past April, blew by a bunch of people on the track and diced it up with some of the faster guys out there. Then some freak instructor on a busted ass 500ex blew by me like I was waiting for the light to change. I was riding an '07 G1K, fwiw. I say that in the past tense because my "skills" got the better of me when I bought the farm in T4. End of riding for the year.
Don't outride yourself, turn down the ego a notch and have fun. Do the advanced school and see if you can run the pace....best of luck. See you out there next year!

So, is this a new standard of comparison?
"Flat out, in the snow."
This thread is so Teh Awesome that I bet it starts getting linked on other forums.

I want to say red.....and for some reason the name Charlie pops into my head. Or was it Jack, because I felt like such an ass afterwards!!! I just remember waiting to pit out behind a little 2 stroke chuckling in my helmet about the guy who brought the scooter to the track. That same guy made chopped liver of me in every other corner :spit:!!

Re: Did my Penguin Basic School Today
Red EX... Penguin, I'd think Dana Temple. Charlie sounds familiar, but I'm not aware of a Penguin instructor on a red EX. ? Who knows.

April right? If the guy on the "scooter" was a student, it would have been Jeff Vader (#202). He makes chopped liver out of me too!

That sounds about right, Mike. Guy was plenty quick on that weedwacker!!
EDIT: Roland, he was a student as well. Was that a 250 or 125?

Track days aren't really an option for me because I've yet to see a track day on a weekend, and I work full-time in a position which can't really be abandoned to go ride my bike on a track. Also, most of the track days I've looked into make it clear that they don't allow inside passing, and generally exist so guys can just go have fun. I like fun, but I'm more interested in racing. I can ride fast around corners and hit near top speeds on the streets/highways if that is all I was looking to do. A couple of track days would be a must for someone completely new to going fast and dragging a knee, but I think I'm ready to race with the novices. I've been to Loudon and have seen how fast those guys are going and I am confident in my abilities. That's not to say that I think I'm going to be faster than anyone else. I could quite possible get my ass kicked on my first few ventures onto the track, in fact that is what I expect to happen, but that is all part of learning. Hope that is enough of an answer!

If you’ve a mind to bring me trouble you will find me waiting here.
But don’t be too surprised at what you see.
For Trouble never left my side after I left the farm.
And Trouble really never troubled me.
Trouble hung around me since I was just a boy—
Trouble was the closest friend I ever had.
Trouble made my home a wreck and made my sister cry—
Trouble often left my papa fighting mad.
Trouble followed me to school—just wouldn’t stay away—
Trouble always stayed there with me by my side.
Trouble came to mama’s funeral—despite tears I held inside—
I could never escape Trouble though I tried.
I never looked for Trouble and I don’t look today.
But Trouble always seems to look for me.
So if you’re coming here with Trouble, I’ll be waiting for you pal,
Because Trouble never really troubled me.
Trouble always stayed right with me—never leaving me alone—
Until one day old Trouble set us free.
I can’t forget how strange it felt when Trouble left our home—
Trouble’s always been way of life for me.
My life’s a little empty now since Trouble went away;
Because Trouble never really troubled me.
So If you want to bring me Trouble then step on up inside.
Because Trouble is my little dog, you see.
