You have a pizza tattoo! And lots of guns! You kind of scare me, but I would never admit that to your face! And your bike is loud. Suck on that!

At a trackday... On a slow bike. I was Flaht out!!

Race weekend I think I go a little quicker.

Pretty sure i would spank the new pre novice with my 22 year old slow bike too.

Oh and Brian... They are called "markers". Find them and you will go faster. That big orange box in 1 is a start. So are the number boards as you come up on the corner. You did see those... right?

Man, this guy's FAST! 6th gear in the rain? I only hit 5th in the dry. But I'm on a slow SV. I wish I could go fast.

At BoMo on wednesday, I was working to get to the top of 4th on my stock geared 600rr, and talking with Doc, I'm not sure we were going faster than maybe 29's just playing around. 6th gear is impressive in the rain.

You do 150 mph riding in a state forest? Which one is that?

Re: Did my Penguin Basic School Today

    lol

Congrats on finishing the class and having a good time even in the poor weather. I was hoping it would stay nice but had no intention of going out in that crap! Definitely come out and race next year, its certainly one of the most intense and rewarding experiences life has to offer.

Based on this thread (as entertaining as its been), the best advice I can offer is to stay humble and learn from everyone you can. The thrill of a fast lap is relative, and that is what you're experiencing (and the reason we all love this sport!). Someone running 1:30's for the first time may feel like they're riding on the edge of insanity, while someone running 15 seconds faster may feel like they're out for a daily cruise.

You'll never find a fast guy talking about how much talent they have. Stay humble and have some fun bud, hope to see you out there in April.

PS: Don't take anything personally, the amount of ball busting around the track is unmatched, and its half the fun of the racing community. You handed these guys a loaded weapon talking about how fast you were in the basic class haha.

You run 150 down that stretch?! You don't need me to tell you how good an idea that is.

I was instructing on Friday and the conditions were not fun.

It was a light crowd, so I only went out with the Track Experience group - usually I'll do the Basic instruction as well.

All the school bikes are on DOTs and I was on my street bike with street tires. If you wanted to go faster, you should have looked for an instructor with rains and said something. I'm sure there were several there that would have shown you what it's like to rip in the wet.

I've had my 06' R6 doing 140 in about 8 seconds. I'll guarantee I can do 140 on Loudon's straight in the dry.

Quote Originally Posted by qqac View Post

I'll gladly take you on the ride if you want. Funny you guys think I'm talking shit. I'm just sayin', going fast at Loudon isn't really fast if you ask me. I understand about doing fast lap times, but give me as much practice as anyone else and I'll do fast lap times too. I'm not sure how this keeps turning out to be my fault I've stated numerous times that I don't think I'm going to do fast laps right away. I'm humble about that, but I'm definitely putting it out here that I know how to ride and have alot of experience on 2 wheels. Just to ease the guys fears of having a complete dickhead showing up at the races. I'll take Jorge Lorenzo thru my practice loop and kick his ass, does that make him slow? I'll keep my ego in check, some of this is just to get you guys going... . But I do take my future racing career as serious as I should. I'm studying the track, exercising, and practicing on the closest thing to a track I can find. You guys had me all second guessing myself before setting foot on the track, now I'm just putting it out there that I did alot better than expected. The thread explains why I was having difficulty on the straight. It was only my second time wearing my new TCX's and the shifter wasn't coming down so it gave me the impression I was either already in 6th, or that something was wrong w/the tranny. Glad I figured it out. 125 in the rain in 4th gear isn't too bad. Noone passed me, and I wasn't even racing. Come on a ride with me thru the forest, you'll have a blast. I'm actually really a decent guy, I just come across like an asshole on the internet because it's funny.
