It's not that I didn't want to get the racing gloves wet, I didn't want my hands to freeze up. My race gloves at the time had incredibly good ventilation, and my hands tend to shut off due to 'cold' way before they really should. That was the logic that led me to putting on the Olympics, a mistake I shall never make again.

Motard for the rain. They are ridiculous fun. The high hp bikes tend to get people into trouble too quickly. A mistake with the throttle and youre on the ground. My R6 could be a handful in the wet if I wasnt careful. There were more then a few times it tossed me out of the seat especially going up the hill.

MZ Skorpion. Motard motor with traditional sportbike ergos.

A TZ. Second place to rs125. Third runner up goes to a tard.
Coming out of the corners is okay. Your on full gas and slowly back off when coming into the powerband so nothing abrupt happens then slowly bring it back to full throtlle as you straighten the bike up.

That would be perfect if the motor had a little bit more power to make things exciting.

You'll never use all the power.

I ran Bridgestones, I suspect you can get tires from all the vendors that'll work.

Re: What would be your perfect rainy day , track day bike be to run ...

They don't. :D
You end up mounting a 155 Bridgestone, aka a 250GP intended unit in back. It's a little tall, you don't end up using all of the tread but it sticks awesome.

Feel free to pester me for whatever little bits of info I managed to figure out. I will warn you, cold tires plus too low a gear up out of 3 into 4 you can light it up and dump it, with just 40hp. :D

I've actually tested this at a Tony's Track Day. I got passed on the front straight, but was able to work to the front of the pack by turn 12. Get passed by most before turn 1, repeat. :D I ended up washing the front out after 11 in my final section trying to push just a touch too hard... if I had Sava rains mounted it would have been even more epic. (I don't think anyone that day had rains, if they had I wouldn't have been able to be quite so epic in comparison.)
