Questions- travel to Canada with track bikes

Any advice helpful or otherwise about taking non-registered bikes to Canada for a track day? Do I need titles? Anything I should leave home? I have the enhanced driver's license for the border crossing, and just sent for my Canadian insurance cards for the hauler and the one street bike I'm taking. I'm guessing gas is a lot cheaper here.

not sure if things are the same as they were years ago when my brother used to race mini-stock cars at Sanair. when we raced at US tracks, we were pretty much unlimited in the amount of spare parts we could have, especially tires, but when we went to Canada, at the border crossing, we had to pay duty on spares and time spent inventorying at the crossing was also an inconvenience

I did Calabogie a few years ago and Canada never even looked in the trailer. The US looked in the trailer briefly but never asked for proof of ownership. They didn't care about spares or anything in the boxes.

Went to Bogie last month. Two bikes, SUV FULL of gear spares, tools etc. Only questions into Canada were where and how long we were staying, ey. In the US where we were coming from, who's the owner of the towing vehicle, where do we live and spread your cheeks and lift your sack.

As a precaution we brought titles and bill of sales for everything as well as passports. You know, because I am a dirty A-rab

The last time I went to Montreal to record I brought my Guild acoustic/electric bass. No problem going up but a huge rash of shit coming back because I could not prove that I hadn't bought it up there. Bring receipts for anything of much value. If you don't have the receipt, fill out the paperwork at the border on the way up to document ownership.

We don't have titles for the vintage race bikes and have not had a problem going into or out of Canada for races at Mosport. But if you have it, bring it. They asked a bunch of questions but we were in compliance with the amount of alcohol etc so they did not bother us. One time going into Canada, they tore my parents camper apart. My Dad thinks he was too nice to them.

Bring titles and reg if you have it. In theory they can give you a hard time so best not to give them a reason.

What's an 'enhanced drivers license'? Never heard of that.

    And gas isn't cheaper there!

    And THIS!

An enhanced license is basically a passport "card" built into your license. You supply the same paperwork the passport card would need at the time of license renewal.

As others have said, coming back is where you might have many questions... So just have everything and anything you should.
I'd really recommend getting a passport. It will make your life easier, especially if you ever make last minute travel plans.

I had a passport. It expired after ten years with no stamps in it. I don't get out much. I make last minute plans every day, however none of them have involved travel to foreign countries. Sounds exciting.
I live 50 miles from Canada and I was last there in 1998.
