A few of us off the forum took a mid-winter trip to sunny Jacksonville Florida recently and I wanted to share some photos. It was a great 3 day event. Very fast group of guys. There were a few AMA teams there testing in fact. There were 3 groups and each group had only about 10-15 guys in each which is great since the track is exactly 2 miles long. Jennings is very flat but smooth and fast. It reminded me of NJMP's lightning track. After doing many TTD days the laid back atmosphere at Jennings was shocking. There was NO tech whatsoever and they explained what to do if one of the local aligators came onto the track and what the sign for a turtle was......I managed to keep it up on two wheels. We are going to make it an annual event. All 3 days only cost $325!!

I like the train behind you in pic 3.(looks like they allow inside passing, too)
BTW, what the hell were you looking at behind you in pics 7,8+9?

No passing rules......
Very cool.
Very nice Mike!! Wish I was out there with you guys!!
Wait, which weekend were you there? I was there with a buddy on the 9th and 10th last month. And yeah, the turtle sign is freaking awesome. The two of us plan to make the trip an annual event every winter as well.

very cool....but im not sure I'd be interested in riding on track with people that havent gone through a tech inspection. seen too many scary things come into tech

I got the sense that most of the people there are regulars. The entire atmosphere was very laid back and familiar, much like the "track" i used to ride in MT. No tech but everyone knows everyone and has enough respect for what's going on to make sure their shit is good. The lack of tech made me a bit nervous too but there were zero issues both days I was there (except for the guy that went out at lunch to try and beat the lap record and wadded his bike in T13)

Looks like fun.
Never one to miss a "teaching" opportunity, I will bring up a point about the look back though.
I would strongly discourage looking over your shoulder as you exit a corner - especially your outside shoulder!
As you know, we allow taking a peek behind you just after you straighten up (as long as you don't reduce throttle)
However, doing it as the photos above suggest would mean you had to let up on the gas. (there is no way to come out of a corner hard while counter leaning and looking back).
If you had drifted to the outside and looked over your inside shoulder, that would have been fine since a skilled rider can do that without letting off the gas.
One of the big things we promote when a smaller bike is trying to pass is to lay back as you enter the corner, then speed up to your normal speed so you get a better drive out than the slower rider in front of you.
The part of the track that you are looking back would be the exact time the rider behind would be closing in fast... and probably way too fast if you are suddenly not hard on the gas.
Anyway, as I said earlier - just taking the opportunity to better explain our "look back" policy in an effort to keep everyone safe.
So any day on the calendar marked "JGP Track Day" anyone can just show up, pay and ride?

That budget has some secret sauce in it. I don't think anyone could repeat that for double the cost! lol.
And I'm still a fan of the "never look back on a racetrack" policy. Still the safest way in my opinion.
