I've heard rumors that construction has started. I plan to take a ride after work this week and see, it's a bit over a half hour from my house.

I know they race modifies there so at least an oval and I think a drag strip but not sure about that.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I didn't see any mention of motorcycles being able to use it. They've been building a track in Palmer, Ma but won't allow bikes. Just saying...before everyone starts buying there condos there and all.

If this becomes reality for trackdays/racing I have two free bedrooms. My house is 30-36 minutes for there.

This would be great If they have racing there, that would cut costs down so I can consider trying racing.

Last year they were using the road course for SOLO II autocross, and I was going to try it this year, but Thompson didn't show up on the schedule. Maybe this is why?

And Thompson Speedway was a total joke for the 100ft holeshot drags, which got canceled there anyway. I hope they do something with the bikes, like a supermoto day.

My father is close friends with the owner of the track. I'll ask him to find out more info. Or maybe I will give him a call and put the track day bug in his ear....

Someone from Born who grew up in the area already got in touch with the owner over it... Looks like it's still a maybe. I really hope they do build it, but I won't believe it until I see something official from the track.

Hey Donald, i know its been a long time but some interesting gosip came across my table today! Ive been reading a lot of press and articles on the Speedway fixing up its road coarse and they keep throwing in the idea of motorcycle use. I know that you may not have much to do with this, but could at least pass on the information. I am apart of a few motorcycle forums and track groups, and i really cant stand NH or driving all the way to NJ. So if anything comes up that the speedway would like some support in that direction, we would be happy to help! Tell Amy i said HIIIIIIIII.

Hey Kayla. Yes there has been alot of gossip on this lately but it is actually true. We are about 90% sure that we are going to do it and we are just waiting for a few more pieces to fall in place. Once we r positive we will put out a press release on it but feel free to chat it up on the forums. We are planning on breaking ground this winter and being open for July 1st so we are very excited about the project and hope it all goes as planned.

I would think it would be in ANY track owners best interest to have a track that is open to any motorsport group that can bring $$ as in pay to play..... Now is not the time to turn down $$.. that said I am guessing the road course will only be used for cars...

I've been to the facility to give them feedback regarding motorcycle safety. The tricky part for these guys is going to be getting in and out of the oval, but they seem to be committed to making it work for motorcycles. In talking with them, I got the same sense of what was printed here (that it was 90% that they were going to do it). My gut is that it will take a little longer than originally projected (hard to believe - that never happens)....but that they will likely go forward. Hopefully when they get it all done it will be fun, safe and affordable....all three of which are required for success from my vantage point.

the access road to the pits crosses the track at Firebird East in Phoenix. people have to wait for the race to be over to get into the infield.
