Running track clockwise and counter clockwise?

I've been to Gratan 8 or 9 times for 3day events. We run that in both directions. It's a blast!!'

[QUOTE=OreoGaborio;1224001]That'd be pretty fun actually. Going up T9, through 8, 7 and down into 6. That'd be a blast.

I took the California superbike school with Keith Code at the old Loudon track in 1989 on the day after the AMA national, and we ran it that way, clockwise thru the bowl. It WAS a blast! That's the way that section was designed to be run...
If I remember correctly, John Kocinski was ripping that weekend on a 250 2 stroke GP bike

Yeah, that's the normal direction that Bryer ran before the oval came along.

Thumbs up Re: Running track clockwise and counter clockwise?

Ahhhh ...., the good old days of LOUDON !!! It was called NODUOL weekend when we ran it backwards .. Either direction was just as fun !!!

Back in the 1990 .., Jerry Wood tried to run the track backwards .., he deemed it too dangerous ....

In 91 we ran Nascar oval 3/4 for one weekend .. You would come out of 9 ..., and hard right it back onto the back straight ... Can't count how many times I clipped the inner hay bails with my shoulder exiting 9 !!! ...
It was called SuperBowl weekend ...

I will never forget this for as long as I live !! ....
In one of the races on my production Honda 600F2 .., I remember being in a freight train of riders as I am in 5th place .., looking down at my speedo as I was drifting towards the front straight wall coming out of Nascar 4 and it showing 100 mph !!!
I pulled the speedo cable out right after that race ...

backwards (CCW) makes that place so much more difficult and its an incredibly difficult track CW. the end of the straight backwards is crazy cause its drops so much and you have no idea where the pavement went. and doing T3 backwards is even more difficult cause then its hugely off camber but with a blind exit. I love that track though. haven't ridden it CCW in a few years though.

Although the track was fun in both directions, I'm not sure at this point if we will really be able to do it. It depends on what they are able to change. Right now, counterclockwise was a lot closer to being ready in my opinion.
