I'm not sure what to use or where to get "safety wire". When I went to the hardware store (Sears) all I could find was MIG wire, for welding.
Where can I find "safety wire"? Thanks!
try a motorcycle shop. i beleive you can order it through Lockhart Phillips, but for some reason i think Motion Pro carries it too. if you cant find i before VIR. just drill everthing out and get the necessary clamps and someone down there will have it and can help ya out
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

thanx for your reply SV, I'll call the local motorcycle shops and ask em, otherwise I'll guess I'll have to order it online and rush ship it.
What do you need to wire and what days are you riding? I'll be getting there saturday morning and not riding till sunday and monday. If you're in the same boat I'll wire it up for you when I get there.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Is Safety wiring a requirement at ViR or Loudon/![]()
I don't think that Loudon has a requirement for safety wiring because I have been to track days there without safety wiring my bike.
Cornerspeed at VIR requires safety wiring of the oil filter, oil drain plug and oil fill cap.
Tony now requires the oil filter to be wired....

Yeah , I knew about the worm clamp on the oil filter, just didn't know about the drain plug or cap.
when u guys safety wire, do you actually drill holes in the spots for anchoring the wire? I've seen it done like that but how do you correctly drill a small hole into a bolt. whats the biggest diameter you would use before compromising the integrity of the bolt head?
