Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
Will they let you walk the track if you show up?
Would love to see it and there is nice weather in the forecast!!

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
I am sure they would but I am also sure they are swamped trying to use every nice day to get the most accomplished.

Only if your wearing leathers, boots, gloves. With a lap timer on your waist and a camcorder glued to your full coverage helmet.

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
I was thinking about selling out from roadracing but this new track has changed my mind. It has me dreaming of MotoGP stardom again. And only 15 minutes from home too.

(Right now I'm working a 24 the 21st, provided I don't get transferred groups)

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
Penguin has 6/23, so far they're in the lead for first laps.

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
You should invite me to that special event.

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
They aren't finishing the track until Spring, so not much is going to happen before June is my guess

Big, BIG mistake. This year at NYST was so epic...

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
The NY and CT tracks are going to be nice complements... between the two you'll face everything but how to handle bumps... and for that we have Loudon!
;)

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
Having done only td's and racing at loudon, and then finally getting to nyst, I learned how hampered the feedback from the bike is at loudon (because it's so bumpy). It wasn't until riding on the buttery smoothness of nyst that I REALLY got a true sense of what the BIKE was doing underneath me. And now that she's all dialed in, I can't wait to get back out on nhms and see what a difference it makes.

I always feel my suspension sucks when I get back to Loudon (after Jersey or NY).
Then I realize I need to take a more active role in the suspension to get over the bumps and make the transitions smoother.

Explain please :sh:

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
On a smooth track, you don't have to unload the seat... you just slide back and forth.
If you sit on your seat fully over many of the transition bumps at Loudon, you are making your suspension work much harder than if you lifted your weight by pressing on the pegs.
You don't actually leave the seat - but your weight is on the pegs more.

Re: stopped by Thompson to see the progress today
I really need to try a track other than NHMS. Sounds like 2014 will be the season to do so.
