I am thinking of buying either Michelin Pilot Road 4 or Bridgestone Battlax S20 EVO. I will be ussing the bike mostly for track days when it is raining and some times when it is nice out on the track and the street.
So the question is witch ones do you think I should buy Michelin Pilot 4 or Bridgestone S20 EVO?
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle
Yes I do have to 2 bikes but sometimes I use the sv on a dry track.

Why not a Pilot Power 3 or something similar?
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
The roads are great on a wet track, and a cold track. Like those beginning and end of season days where it's in the 40-50's.
On a hot sunny dry track, they get greasy pretty quick.

No reason I wouldn't use Pilot Power 3. If you think they are better than the S20 or the Pilot 4 for the rain as well as the dry.

If it's for track duty, yes. My humble opinion only.

How experienced are you at track riding? Ie how hard do you ride on the track?
I've ridden Pilot Roads on the track a couple times and was very happy with them. That was a while ago when I was very new at track riding and very much in the beginner group. If you are a more aggressive rider, Chip's advice is probably spot on.
I hear some use the Pilot Road as a rain race tire.
I've tried a couple Bridgestone tires recently because they are significantly cheaper than the Michelins. Overall I'm not impressed. My primary street bike has had nothing but Pilot Roads on it and I will keep buying them.
cant believe no one has suggested a spare set of rims with some dedicated rain tires.
thats the ultimo way to go.
just like anything else in life, its nearly impossible to find something that does 2 different things perfectly. you have to give up something on one end to gain on the other end.
the PR4s are a great street tire. they will perform well in the dry to a point. they will perform well in the wet to a point. in both cases when you get to that point you will wish you had something better. its widely known that racers have used the PR3/4 as an intermediate tire (too wet for SS/slicks but too dry for full rains).
SV wheels can be found quite easily, especially if money no object. if youre like the rest of us, cost is always important. with some shopping you can usually find a deal on wheels, or if youre really lucky, a set of wheels with rains already mounted.
in other words, find a set of sticky DOTs that you like and buy a set of dedicated wheels with rain tires and ride with immense confidence in the pouring rain while everyone else is in the garage facebooking about how much the rain sucks.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
