My race tires are about 50%.
Doc/Ryan, that won't fly at a LAPs trackday, right?

Can't really do that.
A trackday is in the cards, but not a trackday and a set of tires if they don't pass.

Looking at them again, it should be lots more than 50%, but I can't afford a trackday + set of tires if they fail and don't want to risk a trackday without passing tech. I know you can't tell a lot from photos, but you think they should be fine?
They still have an entire season of racing left in them......

I know, I'm confident in them, but the 75% number throws me. They passed a TTD last year without a problem and haven't been used since.

FYI: The 75% number is a "guideline", not a hard/fast rule. The point is to have enough rubber to make it through the day safely. If you are new to this trackday stuff, and have never been on a track before, you need some guidelines like this to be able to judge whether your equipment is acceptable, and not show up at the track unacceptabe and/or dangerous equipment. The point here is to be safe and have fun, remember?
If you race, or HAVE raced in the past, you should know already whether your tires enough rubber.
Let's keep the "here's my tire, will it pass" pics to a minimum. Seeing a two dimensional picture is A LOT different than seeing it in person.

Kham...could be your air pressure making it feel odd.
And.. I love best the last track day on a set of tires. When the sides have worn and the profile becomes sharper. That's when you have the MOST footprint, lots of rubber left, and it turns in easier. Absolutly the most comfortable and fastest then. (That's me!) However, if its wet the above is nonsense. And if you're past the point where there's still good rubber, obviously that means change a tire.
Finally, the above may not apply to real race tires. Never ran em. The above applies to Pilot 2 CTs running at a 1.26 pace on the old turn one.
