Hey,
Going to be my first trackday, been down there twice already this season to watch my friends at Thompson for Tony's Trackday, so I have an idea at least of how everything works. Anyone else going down for the weekend?
I've been amped up for it all week can't wait to get out there!Any advice? I've gone through the stickies and tried to educate myself as best as possible, but would appreciate anything else.

If it's your first time, resist the urge to go balls to the wall as soon as possible. Take it at a pace that you're not overwhelmed and can see the Marshalls and the corner entry, apex and exit markers. Then ramp yourself up throughout the day. If you go 100% out the gate, your mind won't be able to process everything and your experience won't be as enriching.
That's my experience anyway.
Also don't be afraid to hot pit to gain some clear track.
And have fun!
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.

Make sure you are hydrated, even tho its not 95 degrees anymore you will need to stay hydrated.
Arrive an hour early. Trust me.
Bring fuel for you (food) you'll burn a LOT
Make sure your bike is up to snuff (it seems silly to say this but you'd be surprised)
Make sure you goto the initial riders meeting and all classroom sessions between your track sessions.
Try to have a 'garage buddy' with you, it's good to have someone to chat with all day.
Start slow, you'll see the minute things you'll need on track, then as you pick up the pace later in the day you'll be happy you went slow earlier in the day.
Good luck, have fun! I'll be there Monday.

Thank you I didn't expect all the responses! I'm pumped, I'll definitely resist the urge to open it up and learn the track while on it and off it in the classroom.
A lot of wisdom here, I appreciate all the advice. My biggest fear was being too comfortable off the bat and laying her down for something stupid the second I pushed it a little. I'll have a black cbr1000rr we usually have two tents set up along the pit lane barrier (when I've gone to watch my friends) where the swing gate is for the road to the backside where they are always doing autox. Definitely come say hi!

You'll have a blast. This is my first time at Thompson on Monday. If you're wandering around come say hi. I'll be on an FZ8 in AXO leathers under a red Craftsman tent. See ya in beginner group.
