From the times I have seen in novice and some amateur racing, 2CTs will win you races.

I can't find a novice race winner better than 1.21.9 from the last race weekend.

And I'd be willing to bet I could enter an amateur middleweight race on 2CTs and not come in the bottom 4. And I havent raced in 7 years.

My original comment was tongue in cheek, but there's some truth to it.

this is the only reason I see in changing them. otherwise I'd use what you have on there now. if it were me I'd do the other stuff first and if you want we can swap those tires out at the track. plenty of us are willing to help with wheel removal.

I'd take sticker off but have seen top experts go out and come back in after winning races with stickers still on their front tires.

I've never bothered removing them. There are more important things to think about & spend my time on.

That's twice I have heard that. It takes literally 10 seconds to peel the sticker off.

As an aside... I really wish you guys would quit saying CTs. On the other (goldwing) motorcycle related forum I'm on that stands for Car Tire (yes, there are lot's of goldwing riders who run car tires on their motorcycles) and all the talk of CT's just confuses the shit out of me.

Yeah I understand. That's fine... but.. what good does it do? I've never had any issues whatsoever caused by a sticker on my tire. Haven't heard of anyone else that has, either.

... Listen, if someone wants to peel off their stickers, that's totally fine by me, that's not my beef here. But this brings up a bigger issue of people getting too wraped up in things that just plain don't matter and this is one little example of that. I've watched too many riders/racers waste far too much time & energy on things that just plain don't frikkin matter. I'm a firm believer in the work smarter, not harder approach. Don't get all wrapped up & worried about stuff that's not worth worrying about. I see that far too often. Drives me nuts, especially when I see it build up to the point that it's directly affecting their race program.

Again... not saying you SHOULDN'T remove the stickers... just saying don't sweat the small stuff.

    Think less, ride more

I know you're trying to be funny but that would make it really steep. he needs something like a 190/10

You realize he is going to have to turn that bitch in right? An angle like that will only help

I totally agree with you on that, but I don't think tire stickers come into that category.

If its cool to leave them on, leave them on. I won't, but YMMV.

Re: Tire question for the track

I need 130/70R18 rated at least 600 lbs for the front and a 180/60R16 rated at least 990 lbs for the rear.

Based on the fact that my bike actually weights 905 from the factory, without my fat, slow ass on it I suspect this may be a little light on the weight ratings.

I'm currently running (and have, since I've had the bike) Avon's, which are reported to be one of the stickiest tires available for my bike. If you have better information I'm happy to listen.

I scrape shit all over the place. I've upgraded the standard acorn nuts to the peg savers listed at http://www.pepsx.com/products.html.

Could my body position be better? Certainly. Will I still scrape stuff? Probably. This is my previous set of pegs...
