    Top of the line boots

I wore my street goretex a-stars last season when my SMX were no longer up to snuff. Never got around to replacing them with something new.

Looking for a new set, great quality/protection a must, no brand preference.

    Thoughts?

I have had both sidi's and daytona's. I would not hesitate to recommend either although I think I prefer the sidi's.

    What size are your feet?
I have a set of the White/Red A* SupertechR if you are interested in a slightly used pair...shit, you saw me crash in em .
Awesome boot, size 44, usually run a size big...I am a 44 in Sidi and TCX, should have got a 43 in the A*.

I have had a set of Oxtar TCS and Astar supertechs. Ive crashed both and they both have good protection. I like the Astars better they seem to fit a little better.

    Another vote for the SIDIs.

If your feet fit in them then they are awesome boots. I only say this because sometimes peoples feet just don't fit what everyone else's feet do.

Re: Top of the line boots

My last par of SiDi boots were 10 years old, still fit and are still comfortable but they look like they've seen better days. Probably 80K street miles, who knows how many trackdays, and 2 seasons racing.
I just ordered a new set of SiDi Vortice in black (with red bits) last week, hopefully they will be in when i head to the dealer Thursday to pick up some more ice screws
    So another vote for SiDi

I haven't had any experience with the Gaerne boots, but I do know they come i bigger sizes than a lot of the other boots, at least 13. I definitely had to squeeze my feet into my SIDIs.

I have the Gaerne's. Love them. Crashed them once, the crash that shattered my wrist. Boots held up great.
Fit is comparable to shoe size. Rear zipper. Buckle enclosures as well.

    Yeah, those boots look hot.
I believe Paul at MotoMkt carries Gaerne? I'm pretty sure I saw a pair of MX boots there this summer. Might be worth a call over there if you like the Gaerne's...

I tried all the Sidi's on, but didn't like the fit compared to the Alpinestars Supertech R.

Pricey boot, but I friggin LOVE em! Wear em all the damn time! (unfortunately they're showing their mileage )

Before those I had the SMX + boots.... really like those, too.

I went with the SIDI corsa air's and have been pleased.

They have a wide assortment of adjustments and feel pretty good to me.

Love the A-Stars smx,fit is top notch. Have SIDI riding shoe-Blade i think, little narrow, thin socks work best.

I picked up my SiDi Voritce boots yesterday, VERY cool boots. My only concern is the long term life of the plastic cable tensioners

my Vertigos have spent 3 years on street and track and the plastic cables haven't been a problem. I wouldn't worry about them.

Re: Top of the line boots

I just got a pair of SIDI Rains...exactly what I need.

honestly, I'm perplexed about all the whiz buckles, screw adjusters, titanium tongue holders and suntrax heal cups. seriously, I watch some people putting on their boots and it's like watching someone put on 8 buckle ski boots from the 70's.

I haven't heard a pitch and my imagination falls short of being able to create a logical 'use case' for most of the crap on the high end boots...

    ...but then...what do I know
