I rode it last season.
The issue is that I tore a ligament in my left knee playing lacrosse in college. That was a long time ago - 1975. It's held up well through a lot of activities (like being an Army paratrooper, aerobics instructor, etc etc), and in fact I play in an over 50 hockey league and an over 40 lacrosse league. But I've lost some range of motion when the knee is bent up all the way, and that has gotten worse.
It hurts when I sit on it and put the ball of my foot on the pegs. But "warming up" the knee with some heat and exercise may make it OK. I'm going to register the bike for the road an ride it to work a couple of times and see how it feels. If it's not possible, I'll sell the SV and get something bigger like the Bandit, another V-Strom etc.
The SV only has about 2,000 miles on it and I bought it used so it's not going to be a big deal to sell it. It's going to be a wicked nice bike for someone if I do sell it. My son is only 8 and it's not worth keeping for him.
