http://thedailystar.com/localnews/x1...torcycle-track perhaps the track will overcome local issues, though they are down playing the concept of motorcycles actually racing there.
Wirelessly posted
Haha. You are entirely right, almost.
this would be sweet. hope it happens
if the only original intent is to do track days there then its not racing. do trackdays and superbike training for a couple years to give the locals time to realize that it will help their town, and then apply for a change of venue to have CCS or WERA or whoever start racing there.
ive seen pics that they got the front straight all graded out already
If this does come true, the guy that just sold me the SV650 is going to be pissed. The reason he sold it is all the tracks are to far. But this is less than an hour from where he lives! Bwahahahahaa.
I will definately try to run this track if it happens.
if you build it....they will come.
If you make noise, they will complain.
if they don't finish building it, I will complain.
So I live roughly 6.5 miles from NHIS (crow flies). Never heard a thing. NASCAR, whatever. No worries. Traffic can be a problem 2 days a year. Move along. Nothing to see here.
WoW only about 4 hours for me! I'd Buy that for a Dollar!!!!!
3.5 for me.....
I met this guy at CSS last summer. He built his own track!
There is a bunch of potential good news coming to motorcycle racing and track riding in New England....NHMS continues to make improvements (there have been a bunch of safety efforts lately, possible track and surface upgrade later) and I have walked the grounds of two possible new tracks in addition to this one in NY that are looking like they could actually come together. Come 2014, there could be many options for those of us who love to ride the track.
Look at best case....NHMS repaves the surface and continues the path of solid improvements they have been on, and up to three new tracks open up within 4 hours of Loudon - creating a series with a broader geographical base, more riders (more competition), and some great diversity of layouts from week to week. This has the potential to be the best race series in the US. Track day riders have tons of options. More riders get exposed to the track. More riders attend LRRS races. Everyone wins....I love it.
I'm all ears, Eric...
More options=good. Maybe I'll unretire.
...from csmutty.."What would happen then? Would LRRS continue to run and then have a separate series on top of LRRS since LRRS is run by NHMS?"
...a very, very good question. If other racetracks come online who have the ability and desire to support racing, smart people are going to have to work together to ensure that the net result is a stronger racing community - not a fragmented one. For now, we just need to sit back and see if these places all come online before we get too far ahead of ourselves. However, I like to be the optomist and imagine the best case.....
since NYST is promoted as a learning center it will most likely be a few years before they can implement racing there
