Couple of thick pieces of cardboard should do the trick.

Those would be a bit grippier than Galfer Blacks.

All the valves were in spec. Um, wut?

Ox, you sure you didn't have this thing serviced in the last 20k?

    i have an 02 600 street bike.
if you want to buy aftermarket goodies for it, we can talk (wheels, rotors) http://www.nestreetriders.com/galler...-new-toys.html

dont buy a damper if you're on a budget. get 20w fork oil and fill the OEM damper with it. mine's pretty stiff
the 750's have USD forks, when the 600's didnt. since they dont have a gear indicator, you might want to get one. the GIpro is what i have and it was under $150. buy some chicken fence from Home Depot for $2 and make your own radiator guard. zip tie it around the edges of your radiator.

I'll give it a try on track first and go from there. If I like it I'm sure suspension and brakes will be first on the list. Those macaroni's are pretty sexy though....

    Knobs? Like the throttle?

Knobs on suspension....yeah right. Only "clickers" i'm used to with the EX is the sound it makes when it rattles over bumps.

Damn fancy pants 13 year old bikes, sheesh.

Might be just the SV this time. While trying to fix the mounting of the exhaust mid pipe, two exhaust studs snapped in the head. Bummer.

IS there enough stud left to mig another bolt to it? I turn down the end of another similiar sized bolt to a point and zap it onto the broken stud and let it cool. USUALLY that was enough heat to break it loose.

Just tried it, nope. Studs just break closer to the hole.

Apparently anti-seize is a lot like Santa. Some people just don't believe in it.

Both studs are drilled out. EZ-Out stripped.

At least I can get Deep Creep through the hole to the back of the bolt.

All because people think assembling exhaust header hardware dry is perfectly fine.

    That grinds my gears.

You know what grinds my gears? When I go to my neighbor's house because he has a DVD player and I need to give birth to some knuckle children...

New head on the way via Ebay. $89.55 shipped for a solid used head with valves, cams, intake boots and a new valve cover. Man jickser parts are cheap.
