I also need to check the comprestion, to figure out if i still need to run race fuel . If there is and easy convertion change to bring the comp. down , that would be awsome. Im going to try to get this done before The 9th.

Is your intention to keep riding track days or possibly race it? You'll HAVE to use race fuel if you plan on racing it. As for the carb work, like it was mentioned in the other thread you started, PM TLRMan. He's the shit when it comes to sorting out fuel system issues.

As per the rule book, a racer HAS to use an approved fuel for racing. Just so happens that 93 octane from the Shell station up the street from the track is an accepted race fuel.

The bike was set up for a 108 octane. Because of the comprestion ratio. I was told by Pete that if i wasnt shore about the ratio, dont run anything less than a 104 octane. Ill blow it up. The bikes been through 3 owners sence Peter owned it. Hes not shore whats been done to it sence then. The comprestion will tell me what i need to run . what ever it is , i would like to change it so i can run 93 octane.

    Really?
    Fuel
All riders must use 93 pump gas or program approved race gas.
93 must be purchased from the LRRS designated gas station
So, the the shell station is the approved gas station?

Not just any Shell station. The Shell station up the street from NHMS.

That is the gas/station I get mine from.

When he stated "race fuel" I was thinking more along the lines of VP Race Fuel.

Yeap. The Shell station that does not carry 93 octane is the only approved gas station to get 93 octane.

That Shell switched to 91, so now you can use either the 91 from Shell, or 93 from the station across the street.

How do they test the gas though, if it comes from a local gas station? Does the station have to comply with certain regulations set form the track?

I really don't think they'll be sniffing your gas. It's a scare tactic. Just get 93 and go.

Ah. I need to empty my bike's tank then, since it's filled with 87. Unless they don't care what gas you use for penguin. Then I can burn it off.

Re: My First TTD was great

I had my gas tested once. came off the track and the guy held up a sign " go to tech" and pointed at me.

I thought I was leaking something or won something. It was the race I did w/ HW bikes and came in last place. I was like this is odd.

They asked where I got my gas & I was like " huh"... they just wanted t test it. took a small sample and I was on my way.

I was hoping to win something as I thought it was tested only if you win... they do them randomly...lol

    Never herd nothing after...

    yes
they know what kind of gas the gas station(s) sells and they can randomly check your gas

It's a scare tactic until you get DQ'ed out of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd and receive zero contingency money.

Bring it on. Only thing a fuel test does for me is make the people in my garage think I crashed on the final lap since it takes a little longer to get back.
